What We Need

We are looking for a curious and talented user experience researcher who will focus on making HomeDepot.com's search results, recommendations and filters the best-in-class digital experience for our customers. This research position will help drive site revenue as we pursue a flexible and personal customer experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Create research study plans & roadmaps based on stakeholder research questions and hypothesis (20%)

  • Develop the associated screeners, moderator guides, and survey questions related to the research study plan (20%)

  • Collect tactical customer data through 1:1 interviews and remote unmoderated testing protocols. Analyze, summarize and present research findings. (45%)

  • Collect strategic generative customer data through interviews conducted in homes, in the lab and using teleconferencing software. Analyze, summarize and present research findings. (15%)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

  • Experience with a variety of research methods including but not limited to: Contextual Inquiry, ethnography, empathy mapping, personas, journey maps, card sorting, surveys, moderated usability testing, & unmoderated usability testing. Eye tracking and stats are a bonus.

  • E-commerce experience, and familiarity with testing across channels, mobile, desktop, and physical stores to understand the multichannel experience.

  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, time management and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability working in fast paced environment with shifting priorities while managing tactical deliverables and meeting deadlines

  • Desire to learn and grow your skill set

Experience & Education Required

  • 0 - 1 yrs experience (1-3 yrs preferred) in user research, survey/customer feedback strategy, and other related disciplines (e-commerce experience preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree in HCI or related field

  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting)

Nature and Scope of the Position

Position reports to the Manager, User Experience for Homedepot.com

Environmental Job Requirements

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must pass the Drug Test. Must pass Background Check. Must pass pre-employment test if applicable.

Physical Job Requirements

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
