Job Description

Wintel Engineer to join a team of Windows engineers in the support and optimization of hardware platforms and application integration for large-scale enterprise projects.

Preferred Technical Skills:

Skill focus: Wintel

Experience evaluating new hardware/software technologies and preparing formal recommendations based off evaluations.

Experience with all versions of Microsoft Windows Operating System with emphasis in Server operating systems

Experience with various Microsoft BackOffice Applications

Experience with various database vendors (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, and DB2)

Knowledge of Thin Client Technologies (Terminal Services, Citrix)

Knowledge of Microsoft System Center applications such as Operations Manager, Configuration Manager, and Orchestrator

Extensive hardware experience from multiple vendors (Cisco, Dell, and HP)

Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, VBScript, and BAT)

Security and compliance monitoring focus, as it relates to the Microsoft operating systems, configurations and hosted applications.

3+ years’ experience in an IT systems and Services Delivery environment supporting Wintel Systems and TCP/IP Networks

3+ years of IT support experience in a project oriented environment

3+ years of experience managing systems and/or network operations

Required Skills & Responsibilities:

This position will require a variety of skills and knowledge in hardware/software consolidation as well as being able to develop, design & implement solutions for all kinds of clients. Team coordination and success criteria include but are not limited to:

Knowledge of architecture and systems administration processes for Microsoft Windows

Capability to develop performance metrics for the team and for each team member

Make decisions that have direct impact on the availability, performance and cost of providing services to our customers, broad latitude to identify opportunities for improvement and to drive them to implementation.

Knowledge of network systems/infrastructure management and process methodologies and practices

Work with project manager as project technical lead to direct the design


Write project documentation (technical design and configuration, as well as


Implement Test, QA and Production configurations

Demonstrated strong customer communication & interaction skills

Requires excellent verbal and written communications skills

Gathers customers’ business requirements, issues, tactical and strategic initiatives and shares them with the rest of Wintel Services to ensure we continue to improve our customer satisfaction and meet their business requirements

Should be capable of translating business requirements from customers into strategic and tactical initiatives being planned by IT Wintel Services

Works with business partners, other IT support organizations, and vendors to strategize, plan and lead continual improvements in systems design, enhancements and technology upgrades

Provides direction in escalations and oversights in meeting committed service objectives

Ensures adherence to operational policies and procedures in compliance with corporate guidelines

Participates in efforts to drive efficiencies and meet business agreements

Maintains appropriate Metrics and Reporting processes

Evaluates and validates problems & drives problem resolution

Education: 4-yr college degree preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science
