CBRE Zoning Compliance Department Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

JOB SUMMARY

Provides quality control of reports written by others, manages staff, coordinates technical staff activities and manages client accounts to achieve the company's strategic business objectives. Key project delivery focus areas include scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews reports written by others to ensure it meets company and client protocols and accurately describes the asset.

Interacts regularly with client(s) to ensure that goals and objectives are established and achieved. Develops and implements action plans to correct variances. Anticipates and responds to the client's needs and concerns.

Manages and leads project management staff in the market and ensures thorough staff understanding and implementation of operations, policies, and procedures.

Provides technical direction and guidance to staff assigned to projects.

Manages large portfolios of projects.

Oversees the preparation of accurate, timely, and complete reports to the client and company.

Manage team schedule.

Oversee team training.

Assist Department Director with various special projects to help improve efficiency, quality, and increase revenue.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, and corrective action. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university required.

We would generally expect a minimum of 5 years similar experience.

Possesses strong experience in managing a diverse team, and has a working knowledge of the duties, roles and responsibilities of each position delivering service within the geographic area of responsibility.

Has strong understanding of the workings and interactions between finance, management, and a solid knowledge of the overall real estate industry, specific to zoning line of business.

Demonstrates knowledge/capabilities in the areas of financial analysis, business administration, legal, human resources, ethical practices, marketing, business development, risk mitigation, organizational structure and disciplined execution, and consultative sales.

Fosters a strong service-orientation and an “advisory role” in client relationships.

Uses ability to think strategically and to synthesize the most complex business and financial data.

Utilizes an entrepreneurial approach and develops innovative solutions.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to communicate effectively to justify or defend sensitive matters with executives.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Possess financial skills and knowledge to review the financial reports prepared by others and to make recommendations to executives that impact division/line of business/company.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to review and analyze recommendations and results provided by others that directly impact division/line of business/company, and teach that cognitive thought process to direct reports.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES

A strong entrepreneurial and creative spirit. Is flexible and adept at handling multiple priorities and initiatives. Displays excellent organizational and communication skills. Above-average computer skills in Word, Excel, cloud computing, and use of the internet. High level of integrity and ethics is critical.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with full understanding and interpretation of procedures, policies and business practices to achieve general results. Oversight of department schedule and staff. Creating training material and enforcing department procedures and policies. Reporting any issues directly to the department director. May recommend changes to procedures, policies and business practices, and ensure consistent, disciplined approach within his/her geographic area.
