Job Summary

Due to a number of large projects wins, we are seeking a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Estimator to join our Cost Management team.

Our Cost Management business provides proactive cost consulting services to clients in the public and private sector. As a specialist in your field, you will focus on first principles estimating and risk management services. You will also be involved in the mentoring and career development of junior team members, contributing to succession planning and the overall structure of the team.

Based in our centrally located office, responsibilities will include:

  • Provision of cost estimates for civil engineering projects

  • Preparation of quantities from a range of drawings with varying levels of detail

  • Cost advice at all stages of the design process and during projects

  • Post-contract cost management services, where required

  • Preparation and evaluation of Risk Registers

  • Delivering excellent service to clients in all aspects of a project life cycle

Minimum Requirements

You will be a natural team player who can demonstrate:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a civil cost estimator / quantity surveyor / cost manager

  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external clients

  • Experienced in the preparation of estimates from first principles

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to mentor junior team members

  • Knowledge and experience of Cost Estimating and Quantity Surveying software such as: Cost X, Expert Estimation, @risk, P6

  • Operates with high standards of integrity

  • Excellent written and oral communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Member of RICS
