Eaton Corporation Accountant in Aurora, Colorado

Eaton’s Electrical Products Group is seeking an Accountant for its Lighting Division. The Financial Accountant will be based at our Aurora, CO facility.

In this function you will:

  • Daily and weekly financial reporting relating to sales, backlog, and commissions.

  • Assist in month-end activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial reports.

  • Assist in annual preparation of the profit plan and department budgets.

  • Serve as backup for cost accountant by understand and analyze standard cost, verifying the accuracy of standard cost to include variance analysis.

  • Identify, track and validate accuracy of cost out projects; report actual and forecasted amounts.

  • Maintain fixed asset records; conduct fixed asset audits as needed.

  • Participate in annual physical inventory; assist in tracking inventory tickets.

  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements.

  • Manage accounts payable inquiries and respond to suppliers.

  • Manage operational expense forecast; including services, maintenance and non-inventory supplies.

  • Assist Finance team with ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance from an accredited institution.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a general accounting or finance role.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Aurora, CO will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer experience with SAP.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; with specific strengths in Excel

Position Criteria:

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Team oriented, flexible and must be able to work closely with all levels of management and functions.

  • Detail oriented, with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to work in a multi-task/functional environment.

  • Strong financial reporting, analysis and presentation skills.

  • Experience in financial forecasting and modeling.

  • Understanding of US GAAP.

  • Knowledge and understanding of (accounting) principles, policies and (business) concepts.

  • Ability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operational analysis/reports.

  • Analytical thinker and forward thinking.
