Kaiser Permanente Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor - Ambulatory Care in Aurora, Colorado

Supervises and mentors staff in the respective clinical pharmacy service. Supports the development, coordination, implementation, and assessment of quality assurance/improvement programs for respective clinical pharmacy services. Makes members/patients and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; develops and sustains productive member/patient relationships. Maintains knowledge of and assures departmental compliance with Kaiser Permanente's Principles of Responsibility and policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

+ + Directs, coaches and mentors clinical pharmacy staff; sets goals and objectives for staff consistent with the department and division objectives and initiatives; provides feedback and follow-up.

  • Collaborates with facility medical and administrative personnel on regional initiatives relative to the delivery of clinical pharmacy services.

  • Monitors and evaluates existing service levels, systems, procedures and practices and makes appropriate recommendations for changes or additions as required.

  • Maintains all policies and procedures affecting the service.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in clinical pharmacy services.


  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or Pharm D required.

License, Certification, Registration

  • Colorado Pharmacy License or eligible for licensure in Colorado.

  • Board certification required within three (3) years of employment in the Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor position.

Additional Information:

Besides supervisory duties, this role will have flexible clinical responsibilities. Current areas of opportunity include but aren-t limited to: Behavioral Health, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology and Drug Utilization Management. The area of clinical practice will be determined by candidate interest and experience. Time spent in clinical practice is likely to flex in response to business needs between 10% and 30% of total hours. Candidates interested in a 100% supervisory role will be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience within Kaiser Permanente.

  • Minimum two (2) years of pharmacist experience.

  • Minimum one (1) year of management experience.

  • PGY2 residency or fellowship OR PGY1 residency and a minimum three (3) years of clinical experience OR no residency and minimum five (5) years of clinical experience.

  • Doctor of pharmacy degree preferred.
