This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Responsible for answering patient Room Service Calls and assisting them with menu selections in compliance with diet prescriptions and selecting nourishment. General clerical responsibilities including monitoring menu selections, customer service, and time management.

  1. Position Requirements:
    • *Licensure: None Education: None Experience: Prior health care related food service experience plus previous computer experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have knowledge of therapeutic diets helpful. Ability to operate computer software programs appropriate to the facility and department’s needs. Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personnel and demonstrate strong customer service
  2. Degree of supervision required:* Involves general guidance and direction by the Director of Food & Nutrition Services and/or the Lead Clinical Dietitian. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
    *Populations and Ages of Patients Served: *This position requires knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families. Personnel in this position must recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category. The employee must be able to demonstrate the special skills required to care for patients and their families according to standards. (The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience.)
