Candidates should be comfortable operating in all phases of the application lifecycle. Use of industry proven design patterns and open source tools is encouraged, along with a dedication to staying educated on current technology trends.

More about your role:

In this position, you will research, design and develop computer software systems used for geospatial and temporal data analysis. The process of software development in this position adheres to an Agile process, and includes planning and estimation of task complexity, development of new capabilities and bug fixes, and demonstrations of completed capabilities. Software development occurs using modern web technologies, including JavaScript, AngularJS 1.X, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, and OpenLayers 3.X and above, among other technologies. In addition to new capabilities, candidates for this position participate in the maintenance of deployed capabilities, aiding support personnel in diagnosing, proposing, and implementing fixes to reported problems. Maintaining software requires occasional contact with end users, as part of a coordinated support strategy.

  • Provide software design and development expertise in support of both new application development tasks and maintenance.

  • You will be part of an Agile team where communication skills and the ability to execute within the established development process are paramount to yours and the team’s success.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Requires broad technical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.

  • Typically has a Bachelor’s degree or Associates/Vocational/Technical education and minimum of 3 years of related full-time work experience.

  • Strong JavaScript skills, including use of frameworks such as AngularJS, Bootstrap, OpenLayers, etc.

  • Strong understanding of Linux and / or Windows environments.

  • Familiarity with Agile Software Development process and methodologies

  • Excellent technical acumen and be highly self-directed and motivated.

  • Current TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Experience designing User Interfaces and User Experiences (UI / UX)

  • Familiarity with GIT source control

  • Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and OGC WMS / WFS standards

  • Continuous Integration and Automated Testing tools like Jenkins.

  • Experience with virtualization tools such as Docker

  • Experience with ticketing and Agile process management tools (e.g.: Redmine)

Additional Information: Not to mention our Enhanced benefits program is quite unique. Basically, IBA benefits equate to 50% of salary on TOP of your base salary. The first part is a tax-qualified profit sharing retirement plan to which we annually contributes up to 25% of your base salary (not in excess of applicable IRS limits) to your retirement account under the plan. The second part consists of an Individual Benefit Account Plan (the IBA), which is used for premiums, medical reimbursements, dependent care, education and our' Paid Time Off (PTO) Policy. Both components of the enhanced benefit package are paid for by us in addition to your base salary and potential performance bonuses.
