HCA, Hospital Corporation of America Director Quality Improvement in Austin, Texas

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center combines convenience with leading-edge healthcare services. Located at Parmer Lane and Mopac Expressway, the facility has provided comprehensive medical services since 1995. The campus is home to the St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas (includes a Level III NICU), Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery, Certified Stroke Center and rehabilitation services, and Kidney Transplant Center.

Director of Quality Improvement will support the division Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Quality to execute on quality, patient safety, and clinical excellence initiatives with division and facility leadership to achieve targeted clinical and financial objectives. This position achieves clinical excellence goals by directing multi-disciplinary teams comprised of physicians, hospital management and hospital staff. This position also collaborates with others to develop and/or identify best-demonstrated practices to support the Quality agenda. The Director works closely with HCA Clinical Services Group, division VP of Performance Improvement, division SVP of Clinical Innovation, division Director of Pharmacy and Director of Case Management. * Works closely with Division Chief Medical Officer, Division Vice President of Quality and Facility leadership to identify and determine opportunities based on clinical quality performance. * Works with Division SVP of Clinical Innovation on reduction of readmissions and alignment with Post-Acute Facilities. * Works with Division SVP of Clinical Innovation/Data Science team with deployment and impact measurement of data science solutions to clinical teams/facilities. * Works directly with physicians, executive leaders, directors and staff to implement and maintain quality improvement. * Strategically plans and implements quality improvement projects with hospital executives and division leadership. * Analyzes clinical performance data to identify clinical variation opportunities and makes recommendations to facility and division leadership. * Supports division Quality and Patient Safety initiatives along with Infection Prevention and Risk Management. * Coordinates with Clinical Services Group team on facility site visits. * Recommends changes or improvements based evidence based clinical best practices. * Supports hospital quality directors to achieve top ranking in nation and state publicly reported data initiatives. * Provides best practices and clinical evidence to physicians and multi-disciplinary teams to assist in clinical performance improvement. * Collaborates with facility, division and corporate leaders to develop and/or identify best practices to improve clinical and operational performance. * Serves as the Quality Improvement primary consultant in clinical performance improvement and implementation teams. * Develops and communicates presentations to present to a wide audience at the hospital and division levels. * Communicates timely and effectively in a matrix environment. * Works in a remote and in a matrix environment. * Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”. * Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· *Licensure/Certification/Registration:*Certification as a quality professional (CPHQ) preferred within 12 months of hire. · *Education:* Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field. Master’s degree preferred such as MHA, MBA, or MSN. · 5 – 8 relevant work experience required. · Experience in working with physicians and/or other clinicians in driving efficiency and value required. · HCA clinical systems experience preferred. · Executive level interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a matrix environment is necessary. · Excellent Power Point, Excel, Outlook and Word experience required. · Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. · Division based, travel required, % based on division geographic locations.
