IBM IBM Cloud Frontend Engineer in AUSTIN, Texas
An IBM Cloud Networking Software Development engineer will be the key individual responsible for architecture, design, and implementation including enabling these products for large scale and cloud based deployment, and will work in a small, smart, fast-moving team. Our engineering team is fully agile, and lives in a really fast release cycle - which keeps our environment very energetic and fun. You will perform hands-on coding and mentor junior developers, working to increase the knowledge and performance of the collective team. In addition, you will interface with senior architects across several locations to ensure that the overall strategy is communicated and understood.
We are a global team, so communication skills (both verbal and written) are critical as well as flexibility to work with team members in other time zones.
Design, architect, and develop user facing features
Develop new user-facing features
Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs by working with the IBM Design Team
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability
Get feedback from and build solutions for users and customers
Write functional requirement documents and guides
Create quality mock-ups and prototypes
Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
Preferred Work Location: Austin
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
3 years Programming skills (Python, Bash, GoLang, PHP, Awk)
3 years Source Control (like Git, Bitbucket, Svn)
1-3 years with React and Carbon
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Preferred knowledge in the following areas:
Network services load balancer, firewall, gateway as it fits in cloud network infrastructure
Linux OS & Network internals
Experience troubleshooting of Linux, Jenkins, Travis, PHP and GoLang.
Ability to research on new technologies as needed
Communication skills (both verbal and written) are critical
Collaboration skills and proven ability to work in a team environment
