Position Summary: *
The MRI Tech will coordinate services and activities specific to the Imaging area. Monitors all technical clerical functions, which include efficient patient throughput and effective utilization of equipment and human resources, based upon patient load. The MRI Tech is responsible for performing MRI scans and taking radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs Magnetic Resonance procedures to demonstrate cross-sectional anatomical images for interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. Ensures the staff is trained, competent and in-serviced regularly. Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age-specific needs. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary of medical ethics.
Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.
Work Schedule: 7p-7a rotating during the week and weekends
Education/Experience: Required: Graduate of an educational program in radiology or MRI accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)orgraduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or MRIoran American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT) approved certificationordegree program or a military training program of equivalent standards.
Preferred: * Associates Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology. One to two years previous experience as an MRI Tech.
Required: Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, post-primary certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging - ARRT (MRI) or a certified American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMIT), BLS certification as per SDH policy.
