Oracle Portfolio Lead - Textura in Austin, Texas

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred.

We are looking for an energetic and talented individual to be a pivotal member of the product leadership team with a focus on the commercial success of our Textura solution. The Portfolio Lead will seek input from various stakeholders, balance a roadmap of conflicting priorities and communicate the product vision.

The Portfolio Lead will:

Be a thought leader in your space

Drive a culture of success and delivery all with a focus on customer delight

Prepare commercial business plan and financial models for your products

Drive the go-to-market plans for each product and help execute these plans (all the way from business plan, through development, enablement of sales and support, beta launch, full launch and beyond)

Execute on the strategic direction through roadmap definition, communication and delivery outcomes, both with internal and external stakeholders

Ensure commercial success of each product (as measured by customer adoption, satisfaction and commercial return)

Drive a world class team consisting of the Product Management, Product Owner/BA functions

Establish and drive process around all stages of product execution from conception, business case evolution, go to market strategy, pricing, positioning, project management of development and delivery, beta programs, enablement, launch and the ongoing commercial success of the portfolio of products

You will be waking up every day thinking about how you will meet or exceed the objectives for commercial success of your product. You will be responsible for defining, planning, communicating, and managing the product strategy for all stages of product execution from conception, financial and commercial business case evolution, roadmap horizon planning, go to market strategy, pricing, positioning, overseeing development and delivery, beta programs, launch and the ongoing commercial success of the portfolio of products.

You will drive for consistency, a culture of delivery and customer satisfaction, with 5 key measures:

Key Responsibilities

This is position that requires a combination of strong people leadership, strategic thinking, communication, tactical execution and the ability to manage and drive best practice. You should be experienced in creating and supervising the creation of business plans, go to market plans and launch plans for a global business. You will be diving best practice, all while understanding the state of your portfolio of products, and working directly with Product Managers, Product Experience & Product Development to deliver product offerings that grow the business.

You should be technical enough to be able to engage in questions of solution architecture. An important aspect of this role is also to be a leader of people, a model of teamwork, and a mentor to others. This role will be responsible for both leading and continuing to build a strong product management team.

In this position, you will collaborate with sales, pre-sales, product marketing, corporate marketing, and customer support to define the go-to-market for your products. You will engage with product development and product experience to ensure products are delivered to delight customers. You will also act as a main representative for your portfolio internally and externally. Engaging with executives, internal teams, customers, and partners will be common. You may also be involved in speaking with analysts, press, and speaking events on behalf of Oracle.

An ideal candidate will have experience with the best practices of Product Strategy combined with a strong ability to lead people and grow a strong team.

Key responsibilities include:

Work hand-in-hand with the product development and product experience teams to ensure alignment of objectives and positive customer outcomes

Lead your Product Management team in the creation of whole product plans that account for all aspects of the marketing mix and customer lifecycle as well as internal business requirements.

Communicate with and get buy in from key stakeholders on product strategy, including external (our customers) and internal. Continue to make development, marketing, support and importantly sales and pre-sales feel good about your portfolio s offerings and direction.

Integrate tightly with the marketing and sales organizations on market and customer strategies. The goal here is to increase the effectiveness of the product organization and the velocity of revenue growth.

Leverage the thought leadership of the product strategy team to continue to refine and deliver on the long term vision for CEGBU s products and solutions while supporting current corporate objectives. Continue putting this vision into action to achieve tangible outcomes through product innovation, structure, and discipline.

Work closely with the other Portfolio Leads to ensure we are aligned strategically, integrate our thinking, are consistent in our approach to best practice and we align resources most effectively for the overall best outcome for our customers.

Make decisions based on specific and deep market and metrics analysis.

Work with the Product Experience team to ensuring that the end-to-end user experience is optimized, leading to maximum user engagement, driving referrals and retention.

Have the discipline to keep current priorities highly visible and on a path toward success, while developing an entrepreneurial spirit across the team that encourages discussion and experimentation along new avenues.

Maintain close contact with our user community and analysts for access to market data utilized in the development of product roadmaps, and oversight for resource balancing, prioritization and sequencing of projects in the development queue.

Manage the development of team members and recruit new team members.

Work with the all elements of the business to facilitate smooth and continuous product launches.

Be a positive contributor and an acknowledged leader in the business.

The Portfolio Lead will be a flexible, results-oriented, and experienced leader who will be responsible for managing a team of Product Managers and Product Owners. He or she will have visionary product insight, significant technical expertise and extensive leadership and business skills. This role combines a great instinct for developing compelling products with a strong focus on users; a technical aptitude to work with a world class development team; and the business sense to drive product goals and strategies. Equally important, this individual will have deep experience recruiting and managing people that embody these attributes.

This role reports to the Global VP, Product Strategy. This position will be based in the mainland USA, preferably in close proximity to their team.

Provide entrepreneurial vision and strategic leadership for the product set / commercial solution.

Lead the planning and communication of the commercial solution

As applicable, build the team, with a focus on clearly defining roles, responsibilities and deliverables

Build, Create and maintain a strong culture within the team (values)

Ensure effective integration and co-ordination between the Product Strategy, Product Experience and Product Development.

Ensure implementation of effective team management for all teams (regular meetings, work flow allocation, prioritization)

Commercial

Be responsible for:

o Developing and implementing a go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.

o Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.

o Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and other industry stakeholders

o Drive a solution set across development team (primarily Development/Engineering and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract and positioning.

o Analyse potential partner relationships for the product.

o Set and deliver commercial targets for the product

General

Understand the competitors products in terms of positioning, features and benefits, and account acquisition strategies

Build an excellent knowledge of the CEGBU s products, mapping how the new product set interfaces to the existing product set.

Essential:

10 years product management or technical product marketing experience required.

Experienced in leading product organizations within successful application software companies selling into large enterprise accounts.

Some SaaS or network-based business expertise

Experience making sophisticated product decisions in a competitive market, and getting it right!

Be a thought leader on trends in the enterprise software market utilizing a SaaS business model. Who is doing what, and how does our product fit both today and in the future?

Must always be thinking about the customer. Must be maniacal about focusing on product issues and initiatives that will create engaged and happy users (which ultimately generate revenue).

Have a strong business sense and ability to grasp customer s needs and expectations. Given the broad-based product responsibilities this individual will assume, strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives and stakeholders will be critical.

Demonstrated ability to gather user requirements and convert them into a winning product vision.

Significant people and organizational management skills. A natural leader and mentor.

The successful candidate will need to possess strong strategic skills to ensure that the portfolio s product strategy is aligned with market needs.
