Practice Administrator – Level II (Responsible for net revenue exceeding $11M) The Practice Supports PSG’s Mission, Vision and Values, as well as demonstrates the company’s Code of Conduct in all duties. Administrator directs and supervises the day-to-day functions of assigned clinics in the market/division in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The Practice Administrator is responsible for implementing all operational, financial, quality and clinical policies. Works with and builds alignment with medical providers, staff and hospital administration. The position requires moderate travel.

Major Responsibilities: Note: The following is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties required of this position

Finance • Assume the overall operational responsibility for the routine business and clinical functions of the assigned practice. Develops, implements, and monitors annual practice(s) budget(s) by analyzing financial impact of changes in clinical activities and forecasts actual revenue/expenditures versus approved budget. Recommends corrective action as required.

• Develops cost/benefit analyses of new patient care services and equipment to maximize patient revenues.

• Meets regularly with constituents including operations leadership, physicians and hospital administration to review practice financial performance and practice key indicators.

• Responsible for all practice receivables and collections practices..

• Monitors purchases for each practice. Plans a corrective strategy when order levels are excessive in volume or cost and communicates the strategy with the Division/Market Practice Manager.

• Ensures that the most cost effective vendors and products are being utilized.

• Ensures regulatory compliance.

• Develops and oversees implementation and administration of internal practice policies and procedures in conjunction with Physician Services standard policies and procedures. Interprets applicable laws, rules and regulations and ensures the practice is in compliance with them.

People • Selection, hiring and evaluation of practice management a staff.

• Counsels, disciplines and/or recommends termination of employees as required.

• Develops and maintains effective communications between all levels of personnel.

• Recommends professional development for staff.

Finance • Assumes the overall operational responsibility for the business and clinical functions through administrative and clinical staff including providers, front desk, medical records, nursing, and ancillary services to ensure maximum utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services of his or her assigned practices. These responsibilities include Human Resources responsibilities.

• Directs and manages projects for area such as including patient flow, patient satisfaction, practice volume, billing and collections, service utilization, coding, physician and staff training.

• Analyzes business and conduct audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Communicates with practice management, staff, providers and administration.

• Identifies practice/business development opportunities to increase practice market share.

• Develops, implements and monitors practice budgets including analyzing financial impact of changes and forecasts, and expenditures. Recommends corrective action as required.

• Develops cost/benefit analyses of patient care services and equipment.

• Meets regularly with physicians to review financial performance and key practice indicators.

• Ensures that the practice staff follows all receivable/collection guidelines.

• Oversees the daily/monthly expenditures, staffing and overtime hours

• Ensures regulatory compliance.

• Develops and oversees implementation and administration of internal practice policies and procedures in conjunction with Physician Services standard policies and procedures. Interprets applicable laws, rules and regulations and ensures the practice is in compliance with them.

• Oversees practice acquisition activities.


Operational Efficiency* • Work effectively with the physician recruiting function of HCA Physician Services and hospital liaisons to support the placement of qualified physicians in employed practices.

• Key participant in planning, budgets, new products and services, compliance and other physician practice issues. • Serve as the integral link between HCA Physician Services and the end users to enhance the use and effectives of its products and services.

• Ensure that HCA Physician Services compliance, training and education, policies and procedures are implemented for efficient, effective management of all programs.

• Maintain strictest confidentiality in areas of patient, employee and physician relations.

• Help prepare and participate in practice, facility, market and division MORs.

Growth • Work effectively with sales and marketing to enhance growth initiatives.

Education & Experience: •Bachelor's degree health or business administration Preferred

•5 years of experience in Multi-location practice management. Required
