The Senior Software Developer designs, develops and implements innovative/complex software products using strong technical skill-set and creativity. This position is responsible for complex coding, testing and debugging new software or making enhancements to existing software. The Developer also manages the full software development life cycle which includes testing, implementation and auditing. Receive little instruction. Review methods and procedures for applicability on new assignments. Demonstrate good judgment in implementing methods and techniques for obtaining results.

Requirements:

  • Work with Business Systems Analysts, Business directives to deliver common configurable solution.

  • Design, develop, implement and maintain software solutions in an agile development environment.

  • Use appropriate system methodologies for analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and modification.

  • Formulate systems scope and objectives.

  • Participate in requirements gathering, definition and documentation.

  • Analyze and solve conceptual and complex problems/situations of a global nature.

  • Proficiently apply appropriate methodologies to design, code, test, implement, and modify systems.

  • Prepare, write, and review system documentation.

  • Understand and perform basic analysis of previously written software, and be able to modify and maintain the code.

  • Have frequent intra-department contacts to exchange ideas and information, discuss problems and solutions.

  • The qualified candidate is expected to work on a medium sized team specializing in Enterprise Java development.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral, to different levels of technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality solutions within scheduled timeframes.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment or independently.

  • Must be a self-starter with a willingness to learn and apply new technologies.

  • Knowledge of Agile Software and Test Driven Development methodologies.

  • Experience developing scalable, high-availability applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology; or B.S.E. in Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience required.

  • 5 years of experience developing Enterprise Java applications in a structured environment.

  • Strong analytical and programming skills with excellent communication required.

  • Strong triaging, debugging, problem solving and investigative skills.

  • Experience developing web services using Hibernate and Spring required.

  • Experience with test driven development methodologies using Arquillian, Cucumber, and Junit.

  • Experience with C# and .NET preferred.

  • Experience with SQL required, MySQL preferred.

  • Experience working with AWS preferred.
