IBM Watson Health - Data Warehouse Analyst in Austin, Texas
2nd shift resource in Ann Arbor, Sacramento or Denver
The Data Warehouse Analyst is responsible for maintaining data warehouse solutions that deliver diverse reporting and analytic capabilities to health and human services in customers in the public and private sector. This role provides operational support, data profiling and audit and reconciliation services for the data integration platform in the data warehouse environment, additionally this role assures that operational processes follow data warehouse best practices. This individual works with data integration programmers, data architects, analytic consultants, and HW/SW engineers to ensure enterprise DW solutions are reliable, scalable, flexible and low maintenance. The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of data warehouse concepts, practices, and procedures, has technical hands on experience supporting data warehouse solutions, has strong communication skills and the ability to provide support to customers and collaborate internally on projects as a contributor/specialist. This candidate should also be able to find creative solutions to complex and diverse business requirements. This position typically reports to a Team Lead or an Operations Managers.
Support data warehouse data loads
Maintain and support extract solutions for data warehouses
Maintain, execute and document data warehouse tests and support UAT
Execute monitoring and measurement of data quality as defined by business rules
Participates in analysis of data quality root cause issues and data investigations
Contributes to ETL maintenance efforts for team utilizing ETL tools
Off hour and weekend support required to meet project milestones
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- REQUIRED Skills and Experience: • Up to 3 years of experience performing data analysis and profiling, and maintaining ETL systems/programs• Understanding of data warehouse best practices• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL and ETL tools• Experience reading/evaluating/interpreting code• Strong PC skills with experience using Microsoft Office applications• Strong problem-solving ability• High attention to detail• Strong communication skill• Self-starter with good ability to work in a team environment• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and complete work within allocated time frames
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
- PREFERRED Skills and Experience: • Familiarity with Federal reporting requirements for Medicaid programs (e.g., MSIS, PERM, TMSIS) • 1-2 Years of State Medicaid experience • Applies extensive expertise and knowledge of specific area of healthcare practice or expertise• Demonstrates effective supervisory skills Education / Certifications: • Bachelors' degree OR up to 3 years of experience in a data processing, data warehouse maintenance OR healthcare knowledge OR equivalent experience preferred.
