JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Outside Sales Representative to join our Ground Protection team in either our Bakersfield, CA location and cover a sales territory encompassing much of the state of California. Ground Protection is a Specialty Business within Sunbelt Rentals offering temporary flooring, access, and field covers to the Special Event industry, and temporary access roadways and pad sites primarily to the Construction, Power Transmission, Alternative Energy, and Oil & Gas industries, often including the setup and management of projects in a contractor-like capacity. The Outside Sales Representative’s primary mission is to develop and maximize Ground Protection market share in all sectors within their assigned territory or region. The services provided by this business include after-hours response which could result in work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
Develop assigned territory via personal prospecting, cold-calling, qualifying leads, and following up on referrals.
Provide sales support, training, and coordinate work with Outside Sales Representatives in the General Tool and Specialty Businesses with regards to Ground Protection.
Management of customer relationships and account development.
Provide bids for Ground Protection products and services within their assigned territory
Investigate and resolve any issues including contract, invoice, service, etc.
Review customer’s accounts with accounts receivable on a monthly basis and resolve any issues.
Ensure that field employees are working in a safe and productive manner while meeting the customer’s objectives.
Develop quotes by doing field measurements, take-offs, and estimating labor requirements.
Scheduling of E&D crews and projects.
Manage mobilization & demobilization of equipment and personnel necessary to execute the given task.
Customer management. Keep our customer informed and “in the loop” at all times while each job progresses.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
At least four years previous sales and/ or management experience.
Customer service experience required.
Knowledge of different phases of construction, equipment applications, features, benefits, operation and specifications required.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, along with effective supervisory skills.
Able to lift, bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel.
Computer literate, including Windows, Adobe Acrobat, and the Microsoft Office suite of products
Desire and ability for moderate to high travel requirements
