Oracle Software Architect - Security Products Group in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Suggest and justify product directions within approved directions. Define responsibilities for new projects and specifies, designs and develops software according to those specifications. Provide consultative software guidance and strategic direction associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Acknowledged expert/professional within company and/or industry nationally and internationally. Provides leadership in the development and strategic direction of new products, processes, techniques. Acts as primary consultant on large projects that effect the organization*s long term objectives / strategy. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 10 more years of software engineering or related experience.

We are looking for Software Architect with strong technical leadership and large scale distributed system architect, design and development experience throughout the entire product lifecycle. You should have experience with architecture design of major services and launching them into production. You ve operated high-scale services and understand how to make them more resilient. You work on most projects and tasks independently and provide technical leadership to the organization. You have experience working with services that require data to travel long distances, but have to abide by compliance and regulations.

The ideal candidate will be technically strong and get a lot done - you ve worked on services that are highly available, scalable, and redundant. You understand that simple systems are easier to operate and troubleshoot. You can balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements. You ve made life easier for other developers and have motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements with your ability to automate and instrument properly to get the right data. You understand operational excellence and how to instill a culture of being proactive with your teammates. You proactively find anomalies in graphs that didn t trip any alarms and root cause problems before they become real problems.

The candidate will architect / lead implementation of the tools, metrics, automation frameworks, CI pipelines to enable the engineering teams to be more productive. The successful candidate for this role will have expertise in engineering tools, methods and practices. Responsibilities include, hands-on implementation of technical discussions, delivering tools/libraries and influencing other engineers, architects, managers, and product owners.

Required Qualifications

  • 15 years distributed service engineering experience in software design and development

  • Experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of micro-service design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols

  • Experience driving architecture and security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers through the entire launch process

  • Take initiative and ownership for delivering complex software system by working effectively with the teams and other stakeholders

  • Hands-on experience building and operating entire systems and services

  • Proficient in Java, C , C#, or similar OO languages

  • Good understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.

  • Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle)

  • Experience working with internal customers and translating requests into prioritized work or features

  • Expertise in applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques to develop security solutions

  • Experience and understanding of Cryptograph, DDoS, CVE, CIS, SAST, DAST, or similar security and compliance knowledge

  • Experience working with large enterprise customers
