POSITION SUMMARY

Support actuarial functions by applying quantitative skills and analytical methods to well defined projects. Set own priorities within pre-established overall deadlines. Use strong technical skills in a functional manner and demonstrate fundamental business and product knowledge. In this role you'll help to support the Maryland and New Jersey Plans with occasional exposure to the Virginia Plan as well. You will also act with direction from supervisor.

Fundamental Components:

This position is for an entry-level actuarial analyst who will work closely with the Medicaid actuarial team in a number of functions.

  • Rate Reviews- Compile and analyze data to determine appropriate rating action. - Reserve Analysis- Provide technical support in the analysis of reserve levels.

  • Planning & Forecasting- Provide technical support for planning, forecasting and reporting process.

  • Trend Tracking- Gather and analyze data to identify emerging cost trends.- Ad Hoc Analysis – Compile and analyze data.

    BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

    Bachelor's degree with a major in Actuarial Science/Statistics/Mathematics with 3.5 GPA

    Passed a minimum of 1 - 2 actuarial exams

    Desire someone who has excellent analytical and computing skills

    Demonstrated initiative and perseverance

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    EDUCATION

    The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
