How will you make an impact?
The Thermo Fisher bioproduction purification business, consisting of both the Poros and Capture Select brands, innovates state of the art purification solutions for protein, gene therapy and cell therapy developers. Our portfolio consists of Poros based anion, cation and hydrophobic resins such as Poros HS and Poros XQ, with a breadth of ion exchange strengths and pore size properties that enable a wide variety of applications. Recent production of AAV affinity capture and two new HIC resins, benzyl and benzyl ultra have just launched with great success. We are recruiting a technically knowledgeable purification engineer/scientist with excellent communication skills and a business acumen to help bring these solutions to fruition at customer sites. Working with early startups and fortune 100 pharmaceutical developers, you wil provide technical consultation from evaluation, through process development into large scale implementation. You will gain an unparalleled perspective of purification market trends by working directly with customers on today’s most pressing technical challenges. As part of a highly collaborative network of application scientists in each geographic region, you will contribute to and learn from a deep knowledge base of technical and business information.
What will you do?
Work directly with customers to understand their purification goals and challenges
Strategically position Thermo Fisher Scientific Poros and Capture Select solutions in the context of customer needs
Successfully guide customers during evaluation, process development and implementation of Poros and Capture Select products
Effectively communicate and position Thermo Fisher Scientific purification value proposition in the context of alternative market solutions
Accurately and quantitatively document market observations at both a technical and business level
Contribute to knowledge management databases
Travel 15%-35% for internal and external meetings
How will you get here?
B.S. or higher degree in biochemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, biology or chemistry
Minimum Qualifications :
3 years in a biopharmaceutical development or manufacturing setting
Ability to work independently, analyze data, troubleshoot and speak in a public setting
Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with process scale column packing (>100L)
Experience with filtration or other downstream unit operations
Experience working in an external-facing role
