Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Transit Systems Engineering Manager for immediate employment in the Baltimore, MD office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans organizes, and supervises work of a staff of systems professionals and technicians, including sub-consultants

  • Participates in the transit systems department business development activities

  • Manages the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety and organization of internal systems technical and support staff, and sub-consultants

  • Facilitates project decisions regarding technical approaches and strategies, problem resolution, and solutions, and cost and scheduling performance

  • Organizes and conducts internal, external, and client meetings

  • Provides technical guidance to project staff

  • Effectively applies leadership and delegation skills in a working team environment

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field

  • P.E. in the State of Maryland or can acquire within 6 months

  • 10+ years of experience to include at least 5 years as a project manager or system design manager on public sector transportation infrastructure projects

  • Experience in business development activities including client interaction/satisfaction, professional society participation, pursuit strategy, and preparation of proposals/letters of interest

  • Thorough knowledge of engineering and contract delivery process (planning and feasibility analysis through final test and acceptance) for transit system related projects.

  • Excellent communications and team building skills

  • Proficient in the design of transit systems engineering projects

  • Adept at interacting with senior agency management and technical counterparts

  • Capacity to manage multi-disciplinary technical teams

  • Demonstrated success in project delivery (scope, schedule, budget, and change management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience ​

  • Proficient in the design of transit systems engineering projects with MTA and WMATA experience a plus
