Job Description:

Linux ,MS Windows and VMware Administrator

Arrow Electronics has an opening for a Linux, MS Windows and VMware Administrator who can provide the technical hands on skills to implement and support a large-scale Linux/Windows/VMware environment. Ideal candidates should exhibit a broad-based technology background, possess excellent troubleshooting skills and be creative innovators with a proven track record of engineering, deploying and supporting virtualized environments.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 7+ years’ experience in supporting a Linux server environment (Redhat, Ubuntu, Suse Etc.).

  • 2+ years’ experience in supporting a Linux server environment (MS Windows server 2012, 2016, 2019 Etc.).

  • 2+ years’ experience and in-depth skills managing and supporting a medium to large-scale VMware environment

  • Exposure to supporting IAAS / PAAS services on Microsoft Azure is a Plus

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 –6 years related business experience in a fast-paced corporate environment. VMware certification, Windows Server MSCE and other technical certifications would be considered a plus.

  • Experience in Enterprise level patching

  • Successful candidate must have the ability to closely interact with different business units to address support needs, gather and implement business requirements.

  • Should be a creative innovator who can articulate strategic visions, consistently evaluates new technologies that could support business direction and needs.

  • Knowledge of scheduling, prioritization & status reporting. Must have the ability to multi-task and track the status of multiple projects and issues at once.

  • Candidates should have strong written and verbal communications skills


  • Experience with Linux - all version

  • Experience on Windows Server OS 2012 / 2016

  • L1 Experience on VMWare, vSphere 5x/6x

  • Knowledge of Network communications, SAN and related terminology

  • Experience in scripting

  • Experience in Backup and Storage technologies would be considered a plus, especially Veeam

  • Experience in Nutanix HCI would be considered a plus

  • Experience with ServiceNow would be considered a plus


  • Administer and provide day to day operational support for the Redhat/Windows,Citrix and VMware servers environment.

  • Responsible for the setup, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all Servers OS

  • Provides technical administrative and configuration support for the following platforms:, VMware vSphere, MS SQL Server, Veeam, and other related technologies.

  • Candidates will participate in a variety of related projects including but not limited to:

  • Facilities branch office additions, consolidations, closures

  • Research & development, proof of concept evaluations

  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and simulation testing

  • Ensures systems high availability and data protection through the use of internal and external resources. This includes ensuring all Windows Server, Active Directory and supported applications security issues are reported to management and are remediated in a timely fashion.

  • Communicates and coordinates system maintenance requirements and risk assessment for all supported hardware, software, backups, patch updates and downtime to end-users, management and operations staff.

  • Prepares and maintains systems and application support documentation, Visio diagrams for system configurations which are directly supported.

  • On-call technical support on a rotation basis.

  • Willing to work in EMEA shift
