Verizon Business Operations Manager in Basking Ridge, New Jersey
What you’ll be doing...
This role is a blend of marketing, project management, finance and ROI. The Marketing Effectiveness Manager is accountable for deploying and managing the Zero Based Budgeting (ZBB) marketing package program to eliminate investment waste in order to fund growth initiatives. You will partner with the marketing sub-package leads in order to identify and execute efficiency/savings initiatives across the total marketing investment. This is a high exposure role that requires a strategic thinker with a proven record of delivering results through the deployment of highly complex programs. In addition, the role requires close collaboration with Finance, Business Transformation and the broader Marketing team. You will report directly to the VP of Marketing and Experience Effectiveness.
Act as the single point of contact for coordinating and managing the Zero Based Budgeting marketing program.
Selectively support the identification, quantification, buy-in, and execution of the marketing efficiency initiatives.
Partner with Finance to achieve full visibility of the marketing investment.
Lead the implementation of the Price x Quantity framework to set the right level of investment across the different marketing functions.
Identify and quantify interdependencies across the different marketing functions (media, sponsorship, CRM, creative, production, and experience) to ensure a well-balanced investment allocation.
Partner with the Marketing Effectiveness Director to deploy a consistency approach to measure ROI across the total investment.
Build the 3-year package savings roadmap to achieve the 2020 goal.
Track completion of deliverables for sub-package owners to achieve savings goal.
Communicate overall program status, as well as status by work stream, to the Marketing Executive Team and other key stakeholders.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience working in Marketing Effectiveness, Finance or Business Operations.
Project management experience.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance or Business.
Strong foundation of general marketing practice.
Experience handling multiple projects concurrently, leveraging organization and time-management skills.
Strong understanding of how marketing investment management supports a large organization.
Ability to successfully articulate the linkage between business decisions, business objectives, and analytical approaches and findings.
Good understanding of Marketing ROI and the ability to translate investment analytics and insights into business actions.
Outstanding oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to successfully build long-term relationships with colleagues and business partners.
Enthusiasm for delivering high impact projects and service to clients.
Effectively worked across organizational boundaries.
Experience delivering results accurately and timely by overcoming obstacles and developing tools to improve efficiencies.
Ability to make trade-offs to deliver effective solutions to business partners in a timely fashion.
Highly consultative approach with business partners.
