What you’ll be doing...

Job Title: Sr. Manager, Business Operations and Project Management

Responsibilities and essential functions:

Reporting to the Exec Director, Technology and Product Development, the candidate will be responsible for driving and Project Managing internal and third party teams as well as the governance of budget, headcount, key projects for the SVP Technology and Product Development, partnering with all support organizations.

The candidate will have ownership of budget reporting across the group, monitor spend, as well as annual budget planning with a high attention to detail to assure accurate reporting numbers to the corporate finance group. This candidate will also be responsible for managing projects in the group, helping manage work flow and real time status. This individual will build a team and act as an inspirational leader who develops their people.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage agendas, communication and meeting materials for all leadership and SVP/VP staff meetings and site visits, webcasts, town hall events

  • Plan and manage PR/Speaking engagements for SVP including logistics, agendas and talk points

  • Develop executive presentations for internal and external events. This requires an understanding of technology, strategy and ability to think strategically.

  • Develop executive reporting, including creation and maintenance of an executive dashboard to reflect project performance, and performance against Performance Agreement objectives

  • Lead Transformation Office tracking across TPD to ensure objectives are met and drive new opportunities across the organization, including the project management / reporting of VZ/ VZ Media Synergy initiatives.

  • Responsible for managing and tracking organization headcount and staffing (including contractors) to meet financial targets

  • Create and manage team communication, employee engagement and Pulse Survey action plans

  • Identify employee engagement opportunities and strategy that drive employee engagement and recognition, including marketing the work of the team and impact to the business, working closely with HR and Corporate Communications.

  • Working with TPD leaders, define Pulse Survey Action Plans. Project Manage and communicate with teams.

  • Design, promote and manage employee / team recognition across TPD organization.

  • Design and develop programs that drive operational excellence across TPD, including process improvements, location strategy for TPD, and talent transformation and development, working with HR business partners

  • Ensure team compliance with HR policies and training requirements

  • Poses a high level of initiative, independent decision making with ability to handle confidential information

Finance and Budget Management—

  • Manage monthly budget reporting in support of Finance and internal business units

  • Develop spend projections, variance analysis with internal finance teams

  • Develop quarterly best views of all budgets (capital and expense)

  • Create annual budget submissions in support of TPD organization, working with Finance teams

  • Develop mitigation plans to ensure budget targets (including revised targets) are met

What we’re looking for...

Required Skills:

  • BS in Technology related field or equivalent experience

  • Strong project management and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and organization skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Google Suite of applications and social media platforms

  • Demonstrated ability to be effective in a high volume, fast paced, changing Technology environment

  • Ability to understand complex technical and business process issues and drive process improvement across diverse groups.

  • 5+ years of experience in creating, coordinating and facilitating communications programs for executive teams

  • Successful track record as a leader and progressive thinker, building and managing teams of top-notch professionals.

  • 10+ years of leadership and operational skills.

  • Demonstrated business acumen including forecasting, trending and budget analysis

  • Proven ability/knowledge performing ad hoc analysis

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated knowledge and application of Lean Six Sigma methodology in the workplace
