Verizon Learning & Development Manager in Basking Ridge, New Jersey

What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be a consultant responsible for overseeing the routing and assignment of initial technology requests and bringing key business needs to appropriate technology teams within the Learning Technology organization. You’ll act as primary point of contact to author early business cases to ensure proposed technologies achieve business goals. In addition, you’ll promote awareness within the technology organization regarding emerging business needs through close relationships with Learning & Development channel support teams.

You’ll be leading efforts to maintain high level reporting on technology utilization and license capacity for supplier provided software as a service tools and platforms. You’ll also be responsible for driving technology engagement and adoption within the Global Learning & Development organization. In addition, you’ll coordinate efforts to aggregate and analyze return on investment from new and media technology projects and cultivates expertise in new methods to generate return on technology investments.

  • Technology Needs Analysis & Request Routing - Acts as point of contact for L&D teams asking for new platforms or applications, performing initial needs analysis, crafting business cases for technology proposals and routing requests to the appropriate application owner(s).

  • Technology Engagement, Adoption & Analytics - Engages with broader learning and development organization to ensure adoption of current technology offerings and maintains reporting on technology utilization.

  • Technology Effectiveness & Measurement - Oversees execution and communication of formal and informal effectiveness and measurement plans for all technology offerings owned by new technology and media production teams (does not include LMS/LRS effectiveness).

  • Research Based Renewal Recommendations - Supports research and analysis for software as a service renewal decisions and consulting with stakeholders to assist in gaining consensus on final recommendations.

  • Supplier Evaluation - Manages incoming supplier evaluation requests to ensure business needs drive request and technology is a good fit, ensuring potential suppliers meet minimum requirements before allowing internal tracking entry or formal IT security review requests.

  • Brand, Cost & LOE Research for applications beyond L&D - Researches impacts and cost/benefit analysis of propagating internal applications beyond the learning and development organization as appropriate.

This position can be located in any valid Corporate Verizon location.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technology or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience designing custom learning programs using alternative delivery methods.

  • Two or more years of experience in a learning and development organization.

  • Knowledge of technical implementation processes including user story and use case, documentation, software-as-a-service product models and vendor relationship management.

  • Knowledge of current ROI and learning measurement strategies.

  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Degree in Management Information Systems, Corporate Education, Marketing or Ecommerce.

  • Three or more years of learning technology experience.

  • Experience in learning technologies along with innovation in technology.

  • Experience being technology decision maker and influencer.

  • Strong experience in relationships with business leaders, technology leaders, clients and stakeholders.

  • Experience in large scale project or program management.

  • Knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.

  • Experience with software for managing technology projects with IT such as JIRA and Confluence.

  • Knowledge of understanding business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Change management experience along with critical thinking skills.
