Verizon Learning & Development Manager in Basking Ridge, New Jersey
What you’ll be doing...
You will create learning solutions that develop our pipeline of leaders as a competitive advantage. You will leverage technology and innovative tools to support the leaders’ learning journey to build the Verizon of the future. This role is responsible for contributing strategic direction, assessment, development, delivery, evaluation, measurement, coaching and consultation as the face of Verizon’s Executive Education and Top Talent development programs across the enterprise. This role will partner and collaborate with others around the business to create, world-class learning solutions for our highest caliber talent, and new programs that provide executive champion support for sustained success. This person works with limited supervision and reports to the Leadership Development Sr. Manager for Executive Education and Top Talent.
Designing experiential leadership programs that inspire leaders to change behavior and take action by understanding the needs of the business, industry trends and best practices.
Leverage and experiment with digital learning technologies to engage leaders in innovative ways before, during and after training.
Facilitating and delivering programs, which includes welcome/opening remarks for business context, introducing supplier delivery teams, executive guest speakers and panelists, and delivering complex Verizon modules and entire programs in a variety of modalities which may include large conference style events, classroom training, virtual classroom/live webinars, online training, small group learning and 1:1 engagements.
Collaborating with business leaders to decide which areas of training to develop and how they should be delivered. Partner with internal subject matter experts and external thought leaders as leaders-teaching-leaders, guest speakers, panelists and other influential sponsorship roles. Maximize the power of collaboration at The Ridge to expand executive networking.
Tracking details so that even complex projects finish on time, on budget and with happy customers. Manage programs and suppliers to deliver multiple high-priority, high visibility programs for top leaders with flawless execution.
Leading ad-hoc leadership and team building requests for executive teams through coaching, consulting, facilitation and on the job application reinforcement.
Evaluating, measuring and analyzing the impact of learning solutions for return on investment and report findings to key stakeholders.
What we’re looking for...
You have exceptional communication skills and business acumen, executive presence and influence with all levels of leadership, plus excellent project management and event planning skills with an eye for detail.
You'll need to have:
A Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience.
Experience creating and delivering custom learning programs and activities.
Experience in adult learning techniques and technologies
Even better if you have:
A Master's degree.
Ten or more years of relevant experience.
Experience planning events of all shapes and sizes.
Experience creating and executing strategic marketing campaigns that communicate, coordinate and promote innovative learning solutions.
Experience managing multiple projects with many partners and numerous details.
Experience with learning measurement and ROI analysis.
Experience working with a variety of learning technology hardware and software to prime and reinforce on the job application.
Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and experiment.
Proven ability to work on a virtual team with autonomy.
Proven ability to stay organized and meet deadlines, and be at ease in multi-tasking in a fast-paced workplace.
Broad business acumen, financial acumen, strategic thinking and systems thinking.
Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and exceptional communication skills with all levels a including executive presence, public speaking, facilitation and writing etiquette, while remaining calm under pressure.
