Verizon Predictive Analytics Data Scientist in Basking Ridge, New Jersey
What you’ll be doing...
You’ll be part of a leading-edge advanced analytics team helping us bring the best possible experiences to our customers by helping us to identify what they like, and create personalized recommendations for them based on what we’ve learned using predictive modeling and analysis. You will be leading the design and development of an adaptive learning/AI approach to customer interactions and offers.
Drives strategic efforts across modeling and data team, leveraging advanced analytics to optimize processes and procedures that lead to improved device life cycle management, working capital optimization and cost reduction
Ensures appropriate and correct modeling techniques are used by the data scientists and analysts in the team
Manage and perform data munging, and create training data sets, and performing cross validation to test the efficiency of the resulting algorithms.
Acts as the go-to-person for the data scientists and analysts for technical modeling questions, and the state-of-the-art models and software in the field.
Owns the development and use quantitative models
Performs model assessments, validation, and enhancement activities
Tracks and reports success metrics for projects and their impact on key supply chain KPIs
Partners with IT and marketing teams to effectively operationalize models findings
Identify relevant variables and drive integrations into adaptive learning models
Drives adoption and application of analytical model results with business partners, ensuring benefits realized
What we’re looking for...
You are good with numbers and you love to dig into data to find the story. Designing reports and spreadsheets is a fun afternoon for you. You enjoy a dynamic environment to transform the way things are done, and can help define and execute on that vision. You are detail-oriented and know how to focus on what really matters. You understand the importance of accuracy in data analytics and reporting. You are a self-starter and a multi-tasker who can work independently under tight timelines. You want to make an impact by providing the data that will help improve the experience of our customers.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Economics or a related field or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Three or more years of experience in developing and implementing analytical models in business.
Experience assessing machine learning algorithms using cross validation techniques
Understanding of experiment design and hypothesis testing, including A/B and multivariate tests
Hands-on experience with SQL and statistical software packages (e.g., R, SAS or SPSS).
Even better if you have:
Familiarity applying machine learning to solve other AI problems such as NLU/NLP, Voice Biometrics, Text Mining, and Intelligent Process Automation
Expertise and experience using Spark ML
Expertise and experience using H20.ai
Expertise and experience using Hadoop/HDFS
Expertise and experience using R, Python, and Spark
Expertise and experience using Pega Systems Decisioning Tools
Experience interpreting outputs of models and building visualizations to depict your interpretations
Experience using data munging, data engineering, and feature engineering software to prepare data for use in machine learning
Experience with data visualization software such as Qlikview, Tableau or Excel.
Master’s or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Economics or a related field.
