Verizon Wireless Project Controls Manager in Basking Ridge, New Jersey
What you’ll be doing...
Project controls functions for all wireless infrastructure deployment projects including hardware deployment, fiber construction and real estate leases. The role is responsible for supporting setting project budget and developing resource and staffing requirements.
Develops status reports and project reporting analyses to team and customer.
Costforecasting,cost control, change management and cost analysis.
Work directly with the project team to coordinate scheduling activities, costs and project timeline to ensure on time and on budget projects.
Drive complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives for multiple wireless carriers.
Coordinate and schedule resources across multiple organizations to align project requirements with business goals and objectives.
Identify, monitor, report and escalate project-related issues to achieve timely resolution.
Develop and implement corrective action plans to mitigate impact to project schedules and overall business objectives.
Develop and utilize project tracking tools and systems to accurately document milestones completions, project issues, corrective action plans, project jeopardies, and overall project completion.
Maintain excellent communication with Functional Team Members and Direct Management to ensure early identification of issues a timely reporting of status.
Strong financial acumen requirements.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience managing network projects or related experience in managing projects.
Experience supporting project controls functions.
Experience in reporting project status on multi-carrier pay point and project milestones.
Experience in auditing third-party closeout and project submissions.
Technical and project management knowledge.
Knowledge of PC and software application including Windows and Microsoft Office.
Even better if you have:
Five or more years of experience managing network projects or related experience in managing complex projects.
Three or more years of experience supporting project controls functions for multiple wireless carrier deployments in small cells, macro cells, and fiber construction.
Track record in setting up and implementing project closeout process.
At least 3 or more years of experience in auditing third-party closeout and project submissions.
Military experience desired.
Engineering, Planning, and/or Operations knowledge, especially with Local and Long-Haul Telecommunications networks.
Experience with SRM/SAP as well as the expense and/or capital budgets in excess of multi-millions of dollars.
Excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organizational communications, including managing over 10 stakeholders on a given project.
Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
Experience making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements.
