We are seeking a seasoned Product Manager who can own the end-to-end product strategy for the Multi-Access Edge Compute (MEC) suite of Application Development Platform Tools and Program Interfaces (API’s). In this position, the senior product manager will define the developer journey on MEC, develop the self-service toolset for onboarding applications, and create a seamless integration to our application and cloud partner ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is someone who can identify and capitalize on opportunities by designing a product that our developer customers will love. They will know how to prioritize between architecting solutions that scale while at the same time prioritizing them to meet short term needs. You will own understanding the challenges developers face and determining how to design developer interfaces, tools, and API products to best meet their needs. You will need to align cross organizational teams to drive product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market plans. You thrive in an environment where you are comfortable with ambiguity and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
Set strategy, define the product, and make the difficult, high-judgment trade-offs between features and time-to-market.
Author documents relating to product life cycle including product roadmap, business requirements and functional specifications.
Drive product development across teams (primarily Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing) through business requirements, design, implementation, and deployment.
Strong public cloud expertise, including but not limited to AWS, GCP and Azure.
Drive Engineering to deliver full integration of Verizon services into the application developer experience with the cloud partner with self-service tools
Lead and deliver the feature development and prioritization of the Developer and API services and tools that define that software interactions and platform connectors.
Understand Cloud operational and management services – aspects of ITOM - in a Hybrid environment, including aspects of compliance management, cost control, automation, devops, patch management and automation framework.
Works across multiple regions/geographies and teams to develop and/or implement road-mapped services, solutions, or programs and associated processes to meet emerging customer requirements.
Lead and deliver an integrated cloud application suite supporting Verizon products that reside on or interact with the MEC including models for linking services that are exposed to application developers.
Initiate and drive a self-service MEC API developer program.
Drive product marketing to create an evangelization program across the application developer community.
Own execution and drive product development across teams (primarily Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Business Development, and Marketing) through business requirements, design, implementation, and deployment to create a single MEC API approach that includes network compute, and horizontal services.
Rationalize and align approach across cloud partners.
Lead API planning and development work across multiple product development teams to ensure common approach to service delivery and tools.
Drive alignment across executive management on specific strategic directions for products in targeted verticals.
Support other product leaders including peers in accomplishing their tasks as needed.
Conceptualize and develop resolutions to complex market challenges and customer use cases that require the use of creativity.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
A degree in business, finance, economics, computer science, or mathematics or relevant field.
Ten or more years of relevant work experience in software development or technical product management.
Experience shaping product strategy, prioritization, and specification.
Knowledge of latest trends and best practices in API development.
Ability to read and review code/participate in code reviews and basic app development.
Ability to coordinate projects across functional teams, including product management, marketing, finance, legal and technical teams.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
