Verizon Senior Program Leader - Mobile Edge Computing in Basking Ridge, New Jersey

What you’ll be doing...

As a Private Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) Network leader and promoter, you will keep the big picture in focus while diving in and collaborating with various organizations and domains bringing product offerings and solutions to Verizon customers. Your role will be to evaluate and lead across various domains challenging and organizing the teams to conquer the unique engineering and delivery tasks. You would bring together the various teams delivering cutting edge solutions by analyzing and recommending to executives the technical trade-offs in product development with the early launch of products and solutions. You will help manage fast-changing business priorities and interface with stakeholders up to Senior Vice presidents both internal and external to deliver quality solutions to the market quickly. Youwill play a key role in developing and delivering next generation mobile edge computing solutions. You will be responsible for participating in industry standards and forums, identifying opportunities, bringing in disruptive suppliers, and driving the progress of various initiatives that will impact how people access and receive data across the enterprise.You will be equally comfortableworking with engineering, operations, product development, as well as executives outlining the vision bringing disruptive and innovative solutions to production.

In addition, you will be responsible for reporting to senior management challenges and solutions removing roadblocks both internal and external to bring new products to the Verizon customer base. Your command of both technology, software development, cloud-based deployments, orchestration and operational readiness will allow Verizon to meet the next gen applications' stringent performance requirements. You will also be responsible for bringing together various organizations for a common goal. Your ability to think and act both strategically and tactically will ensure obstacles are eliminated expeditiously allowing the teams to deliver to their full potential.

  • Leading Verizon cross-functional and cross-domain teams in building next generation private MEC solutions.

  • Participate in analyzing and designing next gen private MEC solutions that will optimize networks to support innovative and disruptive enterprise applications.

  • Outline delivery strategies and committing to delivering MEC product offerings, demanding ultra-low latency, massive connections and high throughput performance requirements to meet enterprise customer's experience demands.

  • Involvement in product creation, establishing team cohesion and reporting mechanisms to cut through the time needed to launch new services.

  • Manage deployments internally and externally to deliver proof of concept in the lab, and trials at customer sites and providing over watch for customer deployments.

  • Develop excellent working relationships with HQ, Product, Architecture, Operations, Data Performance, System Performance, and Engineering.

  • Participating and leading MEC related industry standard meetings and forums and assessing start-up companies.

  • Partner with internal organizations, translating product requirements to architectural designs resulting in MEC product initiatives.

  • Negotiating and managing emerging MEC technology partners statements of work, technical development and relationships.

  • Independently manage complex technical projects, including but not limited to, industry third party providers, open source opportunities, and partnering with internal organization delivering new product offerings.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master's degree.

  • A degree inElectrical/Computer Engineering.

  • Fifteen or more years in managing highly technical deployments.

  • Fifteen or more years in managing cross functional organization to deliver new service offerings.

  • Five or more years of experience with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible).

  • Understanding of cloud computing including virtualization, hosted services, multi-tenant cloud infrastructures, storage systems and content delivery networks.

  • Five or more years of exposure to wireless technologies like EPC.

  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.

  • Experience designing and delivering secure cloud solutions in AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience leading large software development teams both on and offshore delivering on-time and with quality.

  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM).

  • Knowledge of ETSI MEC stack, Open Edge, Telecom infrastructure would be a plus.

  • Knowledge of CDN, Edge & Transparent Caching.

  • Skills in developing forward-looking next gen software systems using next gen software development technologies.

  • Experience in using and deploying CI/CD pipelines delivering faster and with less error.
