Software Developer 3
Reporting to the Engineering Manager in Beijing the successful candidate will be required to work in non-routine and very complex environments involving the application of advanced technical and business skills to define, build and test a range of virtualised configurations. These will comprise a broad set of Oracle networking, virtualisation, and storage technologies. The successful candidate will be a leading contributor both individually and as a team member. They will be expected to provide technical expertise on a wide range of technologies as well as mentor other team members on an as needed basis.
They will also be expected to drive the test cycle process for both feature and errata releases so knowledge of best practices in quality engineering is a distinct advantage. Successful candidates will be self motivated with excellent people and communication skills at all levels.
Develop test strategy, test plan and test cases to meet functional requirements for Oracle VM
Create flexible and maintainable automated test cases to support test automation
Execute manual and automated testing
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues by working closely with development team and perform debugging analysis
Help improve productivity and quality of work of the team by sharing ideas on testing and the latest industry trends
BS in Computer Science or equivalent, MS is preferred
Minimum of 4 years experience in software quality engineering
Experience in test plan and test case development and execution (manual and automated)
Experience in developing automated tests and test frameworks using tools such as Python, Shell script, Java, JUnit, TestNG etc.
Experience in virtualization (Xen, KVM, VMWare, QEMU, etc) is a plus
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Working knowledge of Linux and Solaris system administration
Working Knowledge of Linux and Solaris networking principles
Working knowledge of storage technologies: NFS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel
Working knowledge of MySQL and Oracle database
Good communication skills in English (verbal and written)
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
