Eaton Corporation Sr. Buyer in Beltsville, Maryland

Eaton’s Aerospace division is currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD location.

Position overview:

Purchase materials and services, obtaining maximum value in terms of price, quality and service. Plan material flow to insure minimum investment while insuring high levels of customer service. Support purchasing team in a coordinated effort to manage exceptions and achieve plant, Division and individual goals. Support strategies and issues related to plant operations or new program launches.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, support, and oversee the implementation of purchasing strategies for maintenance of facility and machines

  • Maintain control of the supply chain and deal with the quality and delivery challenges associated with rapidly changing requirements in development programs

  • Assist commodity group with activities to include LTAs, cost reductions, gate review for new suppliers, and supplier rationalization

  • Develop and maintain plan to obtain department/division cost improvements objectives

  • Participate in problem-solving efforts to resolve machine issues and supplier corrective action teams.

  • Interface with customer procurement personnel to align schedules and resolve issues

  • Coordinate material requirements with production schedules, customer requirements and provide feedback to scheduling and management.

  • Coordinate inventory planning activities working toward plant goals

  • Champion ERP initiatives

  • Lead/participate in the supplier reduction program based on a total cost model

  • Engage/lead in continuous improvement activities

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

· Minimum 1 year of work experience in material management, industrial engineering, finance or supply chain management.

· Candidate must be legally authorized to work in United States without company sponsorship

· No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Beltsville facility will be considered

· All positions require use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in arms regulations. All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications: (Not required to be qualified for the role)

· 2 years of work experience in purchasing

· APICS professional certification (preferred)

· Working knowledge of Quality Systems, and Mil-Stds.

· High-level computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
