Eaton Corporation Team Leader - 2nd Shift (Seals) in Beltsville, Maryland
Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Team Leader (Seals) to join our team. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility.
The primary function is to perform duties in the areas of planning, controlling and motivating the efforts of Team Members to meet customer requirements/order rates, ensuring that the Lean production process is running as designed, and meeting Safety, Quality, and Delivery, Cost and Inventory goals. The Team Leader regularly uses a process to track and follow-up on assigned tasks. The Team Leader is responsible for directing team members and communicating with other team leads within and between shifts. This position works under the guidance of the Value Stream Manager and Front Line Leader, exercising initiative and independent judgment as needed.

Provide technical assistant with: set-up of forming machines, program machines as necessary and drawing interpretation
Execute assigned work orders
Training personnel; mentor team members on technical aspects of the job
Work with team to improve processes and resolve problems and also investigate production problems to determine cause and resolution
Manage daily and weekly production levels to support site forecasts
Communicate with Customer Service Department about product schedules and focus on key metrics such as; on-time delivery, through-put, scrap reduction and overtime
Maintain equipment and generate maintenance requests as needed

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing processes
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the Eaton Beltsville facility will be considered.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- Previous leadership experience and knowledge of Pro-E and CAD.
Position Success Criteria:
Basic knowledge of lean tools.
Ability and desire to learn and apply lean systems and tools.
Ability to read Engineering prints and interpret and carry out a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format
Strong analytical skills
Effective communication skills
Ability to work within a team environment
Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute percentages, area, circumference, and volume; draw and interpret bar graphs
Capability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists through communication and teamwork
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures and equipment, OSHA regulations, manufacturing methods, routings, and standards
You must be able to lift up to 35 pounds within any given day. The job could require standing on your feet anywhere from 8-10 hours a day. Will require focus evaluations from close proximity and frequent use of hand to eye coordination.
Proficiency in MRP Systems such as MfgPro, SAP, or Oracle.
