PeopleSoft Environment Operations International provides essential PeopleSoft Enterprise Environments and application support to the Quality Assurance (QAE),PeopleSoft Enterprise Development (Dev) teams and Oracle Support Center(OSS). Our environments are utilized within Oracle around the globe – India, JAPAC, EMEA and Americas.
QAE\Dev\OSS support is provided for New Development, Support Development (SD), Post release development (PRD) and Release Test (RT) releases. The environment consists of the entire PeopleSoft tech stack and includes various 3rd party products, Oracle middleware, Mail and LDAP servers, application servers, web servers, process schedulers and databases. The database environments are built primarily on Oracle, DB2/Unix, DB2/OS390, Informix, MS SQLServer, and Sybase across various OS platforms such as Windows, AIX, Solaris, Linux, and HP-UX.
Brief Posting Description
Administration of PeopleSoft Enterprise applications for internal customers primarily using Oracle on Windows, Linux and UNIX. This position will provide the right candidate with opportunities to work with the latest technologies used by the PeopleSoft application. Some of the responsibilities will include as mentioned below:
Working on a highly automated peoplesoft environment like DEP/ASOD/EMS.
Create and manage PeopleSoft database environments both Unicode and non-Unicode on Oracle, DB2/Unix, DB2/OS390 platforms
Install Application, Web, Proxy and PeopleSoft gateway servers.
Install, integrate, and troubleshoot third party and Oracle products with PeopleSoft applications on Windows, Linux and Unix platforms.
Work with development to troubleshoot application and database issues.
Manage server applications, tune databases and create\modify batch\shell script
Adapt various internal automation tools to build, manage and run PeopleSoft Enterprise applications for DEV & QAE
Monitor database environments and servers through OEM/DEVCC.
Knowledge of Python,Pearl,frontrunner,java scripting,jsp,shell scripting and other automation language is advantage.
Provide Development and Production support for databases. This includes creating primary database storage structures; designing and creating primary objects; modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance; monitoring and optimizing performance of the database; planning for backup and recovery of the database; allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements; familiarization with automation tools which are primarily used for creating database ,enterprise application ,middle tier (weblogic ,tuxedo etc) and creating database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Installing PeopleSoft Enterprise related software like Weblogic, Tuxedo and 3rd Party software on the servers.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Complete own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. We are looking for :-
BS degree in Computer Science (or related field) or comparable work experience.
8 years database administration experience on any Oracle or DB2.
Knowledge of other RDMS or DB2/OS390 is a plus.
Experience working with multiple Operating Systems including Windows Linux and Unix.
Knowledge of BEA Tuxedo, Oracle application server, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Weblogic, or Websphere is a plus.
Knowledge of third parties like OLM, SES, Advance Configuration & Controller, IBM Info-sphere Server is a plus
A self-starter with excellent troubleshooting, interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
Install, integrate and troubleshoot PeopleSoft Enterprise applications on windows, Linux and Unix platforms.
Create and manage PeopleSoft Enterprise database environments both Unicode and non-Unicode on Oracle RDBMS.
Monitor servers and apply security patches to keep them up-to-date as necessary.
Troubleshoot environment issues.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.
As a Senior Database Administrator, you are instrumental in researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending, and planning implementation of new versions of Oracle database and database tools. May act as a team lead during database implementations and for system operation and maintenance.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM
- s or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Success at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is greatly preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired.
