Software Developer 4 - Java
In this role you will be responsible for resolving bugs/issues in Java Client area, which includes Swing, AWT, 2D, JavaFX, Java Webstart, Accessibility and Install components, under production as well as development environments. You will be responsible for resolving complex bugs reported by customers as well as improving the overall quality and stability of Java Client APIs through improvements to the tools that we use to debug and diagnose issues.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about Graphics and Internet based rich clients with extensive experience in Windows and Mac OSX development. While the position will be based in Oracle IDC, India, you will work with Product Development and Support engineers around the world. In addition to working within standard business hours, there will be occasional on-call requirements during the evening and weekend hours. As a Sustaining Engineer, you will help and mentor Support Engineers, write technical articles, participate in technical discussions & conferences.
We are looking for an Engineer / Individual Contributor who has following attributes:
Minimum BE/BTech in Computer Science or equivalent, plus 7-15 years of relevant work experience.
Proven work experience in C/Objective C/C and Core Java.
Strong knowledge in Data Structures, Algorithms, Graphics Algorithms, Threads & Processes, Memory Management etc..
Proven record in debugging software issues & using one or more debugging tools such as Windbg, dbx, gdb, etc..
Must be result oriented, must have passion for customer satisfaction and ability to provide thorough and useful technical information.
Must be an excellent problem solver, creative thinker, and very self-motivated.
Experience in some of Win32 APIs, COM/ActiveX, Webkit, XCode, OpenGL, GTK , LCMS, XFree86 or similar technologies.
Ability to diagnose issues through the analysis of core dumps, logs etc.. - Proven experience in OOAD & Design Patterns.
Familiarity with source code control tools such as Mercurial / Teamware / CVS / Clearcase.
Ablity to work well both with local and remote team members & adheres to group processes.
Strong self-management skills and written and oral communication in English, with other languages a plus.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
