IBM Watson Health - Senior Analyst, Research Development in Bethesda, Maryland

Job Description

  • Provide extensive analytic, research, project management, and client support as part of a team that delivers health care information and research services to government, academic, and not for profit clients.

  • Contribute to client deliverables including writing, interpretation of results, reports, technical memoranda, posters, presentations, and manuscripts.

  • Contribute to research and documentation of projects.

  • Support the development of proposals, project analysis plans, project specifications, and client deliverables.

  • Develop Analysis Plan and file specifications for review by Research Leaders and other members of project team. Work with Programmer/Analyst on most effective way to implement methodologies.

  • Work closely with project team members to complete research, analytic, and consulting projects that will meet clients’ needs.

  • Manage project timelines and deliverables, coordinate meetings and communications.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 7 years or Master’s degree with 2 to 5 years experience within the healthcare industry working with quantitative health research analytics

  • Relevant graduate level coursework may substitute for previous work experience.

  • Experience with client service in federal or commercial sectors.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at various levels within the organization and external clients in a leadership capacity.

  • Outstanding critical thinking, questioning, and listening skills; superior attention to detail.

  • Proven project management and consensus building

  • Time management skills managing multiple individual and team tasks simultaneously, while completing work on time.

  • Expert experience using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Hands on experience with software tools such as SPSS, SAS, or R.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Previous work history with administrative claims, electronic medical records, or other patient level data preferred.
