The Enterprise Data Center Management (EDCM) organization provides enterprise leadership for core, regional, satellite data centers and managed lab environments. Our data centers are the foundation of Wells Fargo’s technology platforms, a critical component in providing continual services to our customers while protecting their most confidential and personal information. EDCM is a component of the Mission Critical Facilities Group (MCFG). The MCFG is comprised of EDCM, Corporate Properties Group (CPG) and Corporate Security. The MCFG works in partnership with Infrastructure Governance and Strategy Project Services to provide Wells Fargo with world class data center environments.

We are looking for a Data Center Engineer (System Support Analysts 4) to be a Shift Lead within the Data Center. The Shift Lead will participate as a high performing team member who is responsible for overseeing all data center operational activities of their assigned area. The Shift Lead is responsible for monitor, reporting and managing all activities to ensuring site integrity and systems stability. This team member would report directly to the Data Center Manager with a dotted line to a member of the site’s leadership. All Shift Leads must be capable of covering the daily operations of the data center. The Shift Lead is accountable to ensure site integrity and systems stability through the enforcement of corporate standards, processes and disciplines, accountable to maintain a 24x7 Data Center Support model including backup support for other regional Data Centers. Be an expert regarding space usage, device placement & expert regarding power consumption & cooling impact. Assist with design and implementation of projects as assigned. Accountable to mentor and provide guidance to lower level analysts.

  • This position must be filled on site at 101 Leaf Lake Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35211*

The shift for this position is - 3rd Shift – M-F 11:00PM – 8:00AM

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of systems support analysis experience

  • 4+ years of data center experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of data center: network designs

  • Knowledge and understanding of Physical layer infrastructure in a raised floor data center environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of technical hardware: systems engineering, testing and analysis of data center physical computing systems (cabling, network, and storage and server equipment)

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds

  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays
