Oracle Point-of-Sale (POS) Success Manager in Blue Ash, Ohio
An experienced consulting professional who has a broad understanding of solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes or technology designs within a product/technology family. Works directly with Consulting sales to analyze customer business needs.
Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment in order to design business solutions utilizing Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Operates independently by applying Oracle methodology, company procedures, leading practices, and creativity to develop business solutions on moderately complex customer engagements. Influences customer leadership in acceptance of Oracle solutions and services to facilitate the closing of consulting deals. Contributes to statements of work, work breakdown structures and/or level of effort and staff plans. Presents and demonstrates solutions to customers. Builds and maintains a network and up-to-date specific industry or product knowledge. Responsible for transitioning deal knowledge to implementation team. May lead solution design aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality and integrated business solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes within one product family; or architects and designs technology solutions that address cross stack issues.
6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Broad product, technology or industry expertise. Ability to craft and articulate strategic solutions. In-depth knowledge of implementation methodologies and best practices. Knowledge of competitive and partner products, technology and solutions. Ability to travel as needed.

The Point-of-Sale (POS) Success Manager s primary purpose is to provide expertise and guidance on Oracle s NetSuite POS and SCIS products to customers, Oracle s Professional Services teams, or partners. Through demonstrated knowledge and skills in point-of-sales design and development, the POS Success Manager (PSM) will become an indispensable resource as part of a for-fee engagement for product enhancements, integrations, or audit projects. Design complexity may range from fairly straightforward to moderately complex, with single or multiple products, and involving multiple technical environments.
The PSM will work with their customers to build customized delivery plans and initiate discovery sessions to review additional offerings with the program teams. The PSM will also work closely with Sales to drive adoption across the customer base.
Expertise and work efforts focus primarily on requirements elicitation, application design, development and configuration, ensuring quality of deliverables, and interfacing with other key technical resources on the engagement including customer-supplied developers, 3rd party developers, etc. The PSM operates under minimal supervision on small to medium-sized projects. The PSM works closely with Developers, Consultants and other consulting engineers. The PSM achieves results through strong subject matter expertise, leadership, collaboration, and teamwork. To perform at this level, strong customer relationship, analytic capabilities and consulting skills are required. The ability to communicate effectively with team members and others within the customer organization is a must.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Be the primary point of contact for customers and partners Success Services requests
Establish deep relationships with customers from C-level executives to front-line administrators, building credibility and confidence to be the trusted retail expert
Develop a roadmap of enhancements and work with the customer to prioritize and implement based on their business goals
Manage ongoing enhancements and provide regular status updates to customer
Maintain projects and project tasks, manage time entry and associated approvals
Partner with Oracle s NetSuite Sales and Account Management teams to help upsell the POS Success Services program to customers by identifying the value-add of the service
Work closely with Account Management to be the primary POS focal point and advocate for a customer s POS success
Lead scoping sessions and analyze customer requirements and functional requirements in order to write technical specifications; ensure quality of technical specifications written by team
Collaborate with Developers and Consultants to ensure that the architectural vision is realized in the technical specifications and code created
Participate in change control process, including project scope control, assessing impact of change requests, estimating work effort for change requests, etc.
Act as observer for technical issues, escalation to Senior Management whenever necessary
Observe any risks that arise during execution and elevate them to Senior Management whenever necessary
Act as technical liaison between all technical resources assigned to the engagement, whether as part of the Oracle Professional Services Consulting team, the customer s team, and/or any 3rd party teams; help customer understand overall technical direction and progress
Estimate level of effort to code and test moderately difficult to complex requirements
Essential Skills, Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math or related field is preferred. A combination of 3-5 years of experience in relevant industry business practices, business consulting, and/or technical consulting is required; retail and telecommunications sectors are most desired. In addition, the following are critical skills required (or desired, where noted) to perform well in this position:
Technical hands-on experience with POS applications is essential, preferably Oracle s NetSuite POS products
Good project management and task/time co-ordination is required
Ability to write and deliver technical documents to internal and external clients
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Solid presentation skills, great at developing rapport with customers and partners
Ability to participate in Sales-pursuit meetings and provide technical commentary
Recognizing new business opportunities in already existing account base
Experience presenting to/facilitating meetings and group discussions
Understanding of Retail eco-system, verticals and online business principles is desired
Ability to adjust communication content to a wide range of audiences (e.g. technical developers to C-level executives)
Proficiency with project-based tools such as Word, Excel, Project, as well as others (e.g., wikis, bug tracking, source control, etc.)
Solid analytical and design skills
Expertise with Oracle s NetSuite ERP modules is desired
Travel may be required up to 25%
