Aetna Medicare is hiring Medicare Ancillary Benefit Contracting Lead who will serve as a functional lead to the Contracting team members. This position has no supervisory oversight of staff but requires a solid understanding of vendor contracts, Medicare, workflows, policies and procedures to ensure the team is producing at a successful level. Provides expert advice, analytic and consultative support to business clients in the area of contracts.

Fundamental Components:

(*) Serves as a resource and mentor to the Contracting team members.

(*) Assists in the day-to-day support, guidance, and direction of Contract professionals to ensure the completion of projects and goals within identified service levels and time frames.

(*) Partners with Contracting Managers, Directors, and Contract Agents to develop contracting strategy.

(*) Leads assigned complex, large scale enterprise wide contract projects.

(*) Provides support in the contract negotiation process by preparing complex pre-negotiation analyses, measuring, and evaluating the impact of various negotiations.

(*) Works with multiple customer types including the most complex, high profile customers.

(*) Acts as a strategic business partner to management.

(*) Manages contract risks and issues and communication of such risks and issues to stakeholders

(*) May recommend alternative contract language and may go on-site to customer premises during contract negotiations.

(*) Implements process improvement solutions that strengthen accountability and promote effective risk management.


(*) 5-10 years contracting experience.

(*) Demonstrated negotiation skills.

(*) Conflict management and problem solving skills.

(*) Experience leading projects and teams.

(*) Track record of implementing positive improvements and execution.

(*) Experience managing diverse assignments and multiple priorities.

(*) Commodity experience desirable.

(*) Experience demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to form strong client relationships.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
