Medicare pre-certification for ambulatory and inpatient level of care. Identifying and applying the correct criteria and medical necessity to meet individual needs which includes assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning to enhance member outcomes.
Utilize critical thinking skills in Medicare utilization management for ambulatory and inpatient levels of care. Identifying and applying the correct criteria and medical necessity to meet individual needs which includes assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning and level of care appropriate to enhance member outcomes.
1+ years Behavioral Health experience working with mental health and chemical dependency population preferred.
Good communication and phone skills.
Computer skills and medical terminology fluency
Able to work independently
Position requires proficiency with computer skills which includes navigating multiple systems and keyboarding.
Work requires sitting for extended periods, talking on the telephone and typing into the computer.
Position is queue based, talking on the telephone and typing into the computer.
The work shift for this position is 12:00-8:30 PM EST
The minimum level of education required for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Mental Health/Licensed Clinical Social Worker is desired
Nursing/Registered Nurse-RN license is preferred
Mental Health/Licensed Professional Counselor is desired
Functional - Clinical / Medical/Pre-Certification/1+ Years
Functional - Nursing/Mental Health/1+ Years
Functional - Nursing/Discharge Planning/1+ Years
Functional - Clinical / Medical/Concurrent review / discharge planning/1+ Years

Challenge yourself as you work identifying barriers and promoting positive member outcomes while maintaining autonomy. The Medical Director is expert dealing with Medicare and in providing support and education to the staff.
