Summary:

Monitor towers and properties and report all appropriate data to the FAA/FCC within specified guidelines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor tower lights using proprietary software programs and process incoming alarms in 30 minutes or less.

  • Troubleshoot monitoring and technical problems in the field using knowledge gained through NOCC experience.

  • Must have the flexibility to relocate for up to a week to run the NOCC from a remote location during emergency situations.

  • File, extend and cancel NOTAMS in compliance with FAA Specifications.

  • Exercise tact and diplomacy when processing incoming and outgoing telephone calls from tenants, FAA, FCC, SBA personnel and complaints from the general public.

  • Complete and update Heat Trouble-ticketing entries clearly and concisely exhibiting excellent written communication skills.

  • Communicate clearly via Email, Heat Trouble-Ticket items and other required notices to RSM, Area Operations Director and other required parties in a cooperative, supportive, courteous and timely manner.

  • Read personal and NOCC incoming email and respond in a timely manner.

  • Print, process and file automated Poll-out (RUOK) reports.

  • Maintain visual observer records.

  • Monitor weather.

  • Perform miscellaneous office clerical duties to maintain NOCC reports and files.

  • Work cooperatively in a team environment by interfacing effectively with coworkers, supervisor and customers.

  • Update the NOCC Handoff form.

  • Able to work overtime, daily and weekends, as required to ensure NOCC is manned 24 X 7.

  • Communicate clearly.

  • Able to work other shifts if needed.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or GED required, AA strongly preferred.

  • 1-2 years of experience in an administrative/support role.

  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to work with MS Word, Excel, Internet and e-mail programs.

  • Ability to interact professionally and courteously with all levels of personnel via phone and in person.

  • Spanish, Portuguese or French a plus.

    Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.

    Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area and volume.

    Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram from.
