Job Title: Account Manager, Boston / Northeast US
The Account Manager, Boston / Northeast US role for Advanced Bioprocessing (AB) is responsible for implementing the sales strategy and managing accounts in the pharmaceutical and biotech market. Strategies shall include “hunting” for new opportunities and leveraging AB supplements, cell culture media, and design services to grow revenue and pipeline share at high levels. Responsible for developing and implementing long term supply agreements for AB products used in the production of commercialized biopharmaceuticals. Responsibilities include working collaboratively with key account managers, scientific application managers, and internal functional leaders.
Remotely based preferably in or near Boston, MA, the sales territory includes the states within the North Eastern region of the states.
What will you do?
Implement sales action plans for each targeted biopharma account, prioritizing based on potential revenue from applicable AB products and service opportunities.
Identify new opportunities by converting competitive business, growing existing business, and implementing formulary programs to improve revenue and profitability.
Provide short and long term forecasting for all products used by critical accounts.
Work closely with Scientific Application Managers to advance opportunities and provide technical support where needed to increase the customers awareness of AB capabilities.
Identify significant trends or macroeconomic issues of strategic importance impacting area performance; Provide feedback and recommendations to AB functional stakeholders and management.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional stakeholders to regional strategy, which includes making sound recommendations for investment direction and deployment of resources to support business goals.
Manage distributor activities within assigned sales area to maximize coverage and ensure broad exposure of AB products and solutions to existing and potential customers.
Make recommendations to Marketing regarding selling and cost analysis tools needed in the field to communicate the AB value proposition.
Manage internal operations involving Customer Service, Contracts, Finance, and Planning to maintain supply channel continuity within assigned area.
Work closely with Marketing to define and track pipeline opportunities.
Administer contract renewals and addendums through established channels.
How will you get here?
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry or equivalent.
3-5+ years of documented sales success within the Biotech / Pharmaceutical market.
A combination of non-clinical life sciences, tissue culture, or biopharmaceutical sales experience required.
Excellent matrix management skills.
High proficiency in using multiple software applications such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Outlook.
Previous experience working with distribution channels is desirable.
