Pearson seeks a Digital Product Manager to support its core k-12 learning platform. The Digital Product Manager works collaboratively with the product team to define and prioritize platform product requirements using Agile methodologies. The Digital Product Manager interfaces with the software development teams to convey product requirements in a clear and concise manner, and to respond to the day-to-day queries that arise during the development process. Finally the Digital Product Manager is also responsible for monitoring the performance of the product in the market and driving strategic and tactical adjustments into the product roadmap as needed.s that the planned end result will meet specified requirements on time and budget, with customer satisfaction at top of mind.

The Digital Product Manager also provides support to our Course Authoring and Production teams, to help ensure that the digital content and courseware that is created for our learning platform meets Pearson’s high standards for quality and efficacy in achieving improved student outcomes. This requires strong technical acumen and capacity for understanding the details of our course content production workflow. In addition to providing ongoing consultative support, the Digital Product Manager will work with Course Authoring and Production teams to identify areas of improvement in the process, which will be considered for future development enhancements, with the goal of operating within a continuous improvement model of course design, development, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in continuous assessment of the performance of internal course authoring and production teams’ processes and tools, with the goal of identifying areas for improvement to our workflows and our outcomes.

  • Engage in continuous assessment of K-12 market needs through frequent interactions with external and internal stakeholder groups. Understanding the needs of the customer and being able to clearly articulate those needs to software developers is an essential job function.

  • Frequently review product usage data, which serve as a directional input to future product roadmap choices

  • Participate in the design and administration of frequent UX tests with customers, using output from testing to inform product enhancement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing applications and innovate new products in order to increase market share and drive revenue growth

  • Develop product proposals and related financial planning, including development of business case (cost/benefit) analysis and ongoing management of allocated capex budget

  • Communicate roadmap and feature highlights to customer base

  • Provide timely support of RFP and proposal development queries

  • Work closely with training and marketing communications teams as subject matter expert on product capabilities and product roadmap, to support preparation of training, support, and promotional materials

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience as a Product Manager, Business Development Manager, Project Manager or equivalent, preferably in the testing or education market.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • This role requires a strong technical aptitude for understanding complex workflows that are executed in coordination across a large number of disparate teams.

  • Demonstrated / documented success defining or sourcing, launching and managing profitable products.

  • Proven track record of effectively engaging the target market: prospective and existing customers, partners and other stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration and teamwork skills.

  • Proven ability to influence and work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Travel requirements: up to 10% travel
