IBM Security Specialist Intern in Boston, Massachusetts
Security Specialist Interns should have strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and in small teams. Projects worked may include security infrastructure deployment, development, and integration of cognitive security capabilities, security product evaluations, architecture design, and working with security products from vendors.
Position must be based in one of the following strategic locations:
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Understanding/experience working with Linux systems and Linux administration.
Strong technical acumen, with the ability to pick up new technologies and concepts through self-training or with minimal guidance.
Understanding of general cyber-security concepts.
Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities and associated concepts.
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Monitor SIEM (Security information and event management), and vulnerability management in order to evaluate the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems.
Perform audit, analysis, and reporting on system logs and records to ensure organizational awareness of information security status.
Demonstrate working knowledge of information technology, to include information security, system and/or network administration, forensics, remediation, and incident response.
Conduct research to ensure the detection, investigation, and reporting suspicious activity; compile trend analysis reports and metrics.
Respond to computer security incidents by collecting, analyzing, and preserving digital evidence to ensure that incidents are recorded and tracked.
