The Cloud System Development team is a team dedicated to ensuring that the IBM Cloud is at the forefront of cloud technology, from data center design to network architecture to storage and compute clusters to flexible infrastructure services. We are building IBM's next generation cloud platform to deliver performance and predictability for our customers' most demanding workloads, at global scale with efficiency, resiliency and security. We are looking for a Senior Front End Software Developer to join our team in Littleton, MA or RTP NC, someone who will work as an senior developer for our UI layer of the next generation IBM Cloud. In this role, you will be responsible for end to end feature enablement across the UI layer, and the integration of our UI into the broader ecosystem of the existing IBM cloud. You will perform hands-on coding, working to increase the knowledge and performance of the collective team. In addition, you will interface with Orchestration, Storage and Network teams to ensure the delivery of end to end functionality.

As an ideal candidate, you are someone who has experience working on the enterprise production software using modern front end technology stack. Experience with highly tunable and scalable cloud deployments is also preferred. Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Passion for web development and a track record of building complex SPA web application

  • A good understanding of UI design principles and usability.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with HTML5, CSS3

  • Strong knowledge and experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, Backbone, Ember etc.)

  • Experience with Node.js and Express

  • Familiarity with JavaScript test frameworks (Jasmine, Karma, Mocha etc.)

  • Familiarity with JavaScript task automation tools (grunt, gulp etc.)

  • Understands REST architecture and has working knowledge of consuming REST API

  • Experience working successfully with local and remote team members.

  • Experience working in an agile scrum development process and is willing to adopt the team’s agile practice.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Extensive experience with React/Redux.

  • Extensive experience with Node.js and GraphQL

  • Experience with Webpack, ES6, Babel, and Web Components

  • Experience with IBM Cloud Platform.

  • Expertise in user experience, human factors and interaction design

  • Thorough understanding of browser behavior and compatibility.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience with service-oriented architecture and REST APIs

  • A deep understanding of complex system integration and methodologies for proving the correct operation under nominal and faulted conditions of a hyperscale cloud environment.
