Thermo Fisher Scientific Senior Manager, Clinical Supply Chain in Boston, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager is responsible supporting the leadership of the Clinical Supply Optimization Services (CSOS) business unit and for managing and coaching CSOS staff. They will also support the commercial team as Subject Matter Expert and coordinate CSOS business development activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on the Clinical Supply Chain Optimization Services (CSOS) and provides business development support to the commercial team in meetings with existing and potential clients.

  • Works with Fisher Clinical Services (FCS) sales to coordinate a full service approach with prospective clients and represents and appropriately positions the services for potential clients

  • Interprets protocols to assess resource requirements for new client opportunities and finalizes pricing for the quoting team

  • Partners with both internal and external customers, employees, and the FCS sales force to develop solutions regarding clinical trial protocols interpretation; study level plans that enable planned enrollment; project management, forecasting, developing labeling strategies, packaging plans, drug product requirements planning, distribution network planning, data management, temperature excursion management and planning for study drug returns and reconciliation.

  • Manages resource management process and project staffing of CSOS team

  • Attends relevant client related meetings and appropriately represent status of the Clinical Supply Chain

  • Develops standards for employee and department performance in partnership with the Director of Clinical Supply Chain Optimization

  • Provides direct management, mentoring and ongoing coaching and development support for team of Clinical Supply Chain Managers (CSCMs) and Drug Supply Coordinators (DSCs) in addition to day to day management of assigned personnel

  • Engages and participates in divisional initiatives that are related to or involve Clinical Supply Optimization

  • Identifies improvement opportunities for the CSOS team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in operations management or science-related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)

  • Minimum of seven (7) years clinical supply chain management experience

  • Strong Financial management and people management skills are critical to this position.

  • 5+ years of experience leading diverse, direct and matrixed teams; in both co-located and remote situations.

  • Excellent computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Some travel (up to 25%) may be required, including international travel

  • Ability to independently manage priorities and workday in a remote setting

  • Experience working with clinical research professionals is desirable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possesses an understanding of and has expertise in the field of clinical supply chain management, including experiences in managing complex clinical trials with regards to their supply chain
