JobSummary:

We’re looking for a Manager of Software Development with

expertise and passion in optimizing and enhancing existing services. If this is

you, at Oracle Dyn, you can take an established and trusted product suite to

the next level.

As a Manager of Software Development, you will lead a

team within the Sustaining Engineering organization responsible for the

continued development of Oracle Dyn’s standalone services.

You should be a

generalist, able to understand and distributed systems, while being able to deep

dive into any part of the stack. You should value simplicity and scale, work

comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and excited to learn.

MajorDuties:

● Candidate will be responsible

for providing leadership, direction, and strategy

● Be available to provide advice and

assistance to teams on difficulties that arise in the course of doing their

work

● Provide mentorship, career development

advice and guidance to team members

● Manage skills development and training for

team members

● Provide strategy and stay abreast of

developments in the tools and technologies that the team are using while taking

into consideration business need and avoiding resume-driven development

● Provide performance feedback and

complete performance evaluations for team members

Education& Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

or Computer Science or equivalent in work experience and self-study

● At least three years of experience in a

software development leadership role

Requirements:

● Expertise with full software

development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, test reviews,

source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

● Familiarity with system automation and

deployment technologies such as Ansible, Chef, etc.

● Knowledge of new and emerging technologies

● Strong knowledge of and experience with

scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.

● Knowledge of container technologies such as

Docker

● Ability to lead a team in delivering a

quality product

● Must be a flexible, resourceful, team player

that can thrive in a fast-paced, continually changing environment

● Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have

exceptional written and communication skills

● Work with teams in a positive and

collaborative manner

● Boost morale and team cohesiveness

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.
