Work you ll do
The Senior Consultant (SC) must have strong experience with Evaluation and Management (E&M) coding within the physician space. The SC is responsible for:
Contributing to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel.
Understanding various projects as it relates to the client's business.
Demonstrating deep knowledge in physician documentation and coding.
Delivering services that meet Deloitte & Touche's engagement leader specifications.
Assuming responsibility for small components of engagements. May have greater role on small engagements.
Writing of various reports related to engagements.
Contributing to a positive team attitude.
Travel to client sites will also be required. We are seeking an individual either with consulting experience or with experience working in a related function at a healthcare provider who can make a successful transition to a consulting environment.

Minimum 5 years of professional (physician) coding experience
BA/BS in Health Information Management or a related field preferred
Relevant prior medical record auditing experience is required
Ability to evaluate documentation and coding to assess if it supports professional coding assignment
Coding knowledge of CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 coding (certification required).
Strong skills in analytical and critical thinking, project management, writing, problem solving and communication.
Proficient written and oral communication skills to conduct training for physicians, physician extenders and coders about above topics.
Experience with federal and state regulatory requirements, regulatory compliance, and billing requirements is a plus.
The ability to travel 75% is required.
