Home Depot SR REGIONAL SALES MANAGER - INTERLINE BRANDS, NEW ENGLAND in Boston, Massachusetts

POSITION PURPOSE

The purpose of the Sr. Regional Sales Manager is to provide sales leadership to a team of sales professionals within a sales region as well as provide coaching and leadership to a Regional Sales Manager within a reasonable geographic proximity. In this role, the Sr. Regional Sales Manager will be accountable for sales growth of the region as well as aligning the region with the strategic direction of the business. This will be accomplished through a strong understanding the market, coaching and developing a solid team of sales professionals and working collaboratively with internal business partners.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 15%- Lead and Coach 1-2 Regional Sales Managers to ensure alignment with the sales strategy and goals

  • 30%- Manage a team of sales professionals to deliver profitable growth

  • 10%- Maintains sales staff by recruiting, selecting and training employees

  • Maintains sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

  • 15%- Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity to ensure competitive solutions and product offerings

  • 15%- Completes sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results

  • 15%- Monitor external environment, competitive industry trends, and identify new product/services opportunities and funnel to upper management

NATURE AND SCOPE

  • This position reports to the Director of Sales.

  • This position has 15 direct reports.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:

  • Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of sales experience preferably business to business

  • 3+ years of sales leadership experience

  • Solid business acumen with a knowledge of understanding and acting on financial reports

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead within the values of The Home Depot

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Solid Microsoft Office skills as well as computer competency

  • Ability to analyze data and make sound decisions
