Position Title: Deputy Chief Health Officer, Medical Imaging

Position Location: Boston preferred. San Diego, Chicago, New York, remote also possible.

The Medical Imaging Deputy Chief Health Officer will ensure excellence in customer relationships by communicating needs from clinicians to technology leads and vice versa to deliver solutions aligned with client’s organizational objectives. He/she will provide clinical leadership in the design and development of solutions and engagement with key stakeholders to support meaningful use of Watson Health Imaging solutions. He/she will engage with key stakeholders and institutions across the healthcare continuum and build relationships with potential clients to advocate the use of innovative informatics and technology. In addition, the Deputy will provide clinical and business expertise to the Watson Health’s research and publication work. He/she will support compliance with accrediting and certifying bodies and federal, state and local agencies. The Deputy will collaborate with the Chief Health Officer and other Deputies, Business Leads, Strategy, Product Offering Leads, Go-to-Market Leads, and Quality Management team.

This Medical Imaging Deputy Chief Health Officer has responsibilities in three overarching areas;

Develop Product Insights :

  • Provide broad and strategic clinical and business expertise to offering management and research teams to inform high value solution development/improvements and intuitive, seamless workflow design.

  • Collaborate with the quality management and product offering management teams to ensure quality and safety of solutions.

Execute Client Opportunity:

  • Provide broad medical imaging expertise for key customer engagements during sales process, solution design, and implementation.

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of customer implementation and training support materials and processes.

  • Collect customer information to help define the default configuration settings that meet our recommended best practices.

  • Help collect and organize clinical feedback related to existing products and potential new products or services.

Engage External Market and IBM Network

Externally :

  • Engage with key health/healthcare stakeholders to inform and shape cognitive health marketplace and represent IBM Watson Health point-of-view.

  • Guide and create publications in clinical journals that validate our product claims.

  • Collaborate with corporate citizenship organization to drive and execute on Watson Health mission for underserved, needy, global communities.

Internally:

  • Engage clinical professionals across IBM to foster a strong network and community and harness clinical expertise to individually and collectively fuel Watson Health/IBM Healthcare innovation and go-to-market efforts.

  • Help establish and communicate Watson Health mission and develop shared language within IBM network

Requirements:

  • Two or more years in medical practice post residency; contemporary clinician who understands major trends in imaging/biotech and broad understanding of industry workflow

  • Has strong business mindset and 5 or more years of industry experience outside of clinical setting in a variety of roles

  • Strategic and innovative thinker with 2 or more years of experience in business development/consultative sales around use of technology and workflow redesign in life science setting

  • Experience in informing design and development of innovative imaging solutions using technology, data, and new models of care

  • Board certified or board eligible radiologist or cardiologist

  • Broad understanding of medical imaging clinical practice and business operations

  • Experience in informing design and development of innovative IT solutions

  • Strong leadership, team building, and teaching skills

  • Strategic and creative thinker with high respect for scientific principles and IBM’s values

  • Self-directed individual with strong oral and written communication skills

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • MD or DO required

  • At least 3 years experience working in an industry setting

  • At least 2 years experience working in senior clinical role

  • At least 2 years experience in business development/consultative sales/sales support around use of technology and workflow redesign

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • At least 2 years experience in medical practice post residency

  • At least 7 years experience working in industry in a variety of roles

  • At least 4 years experience working in senior clinical role in an imaging setting

  • At least 3 years experience in industry outside of clinical setting

  • At least 4 years experience in business development/consultative sales/sales support

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • MD or DO required

  • At least 3 years experience working in an industry setting

  • At least 2 years experience working in senior clinical role

  • At least 2 years experience in business development/consultative sales/sales support around use of technology and workflow redesign

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • At least 2 years experience in medical practice post residency
