Merck Specialist, Business/Tech. Analysis- SAP FICO in Branchburg, New Jersey
We are seeking an energetic and forward-thinking professional to join our Information Technology group in Branchburg, NJ. As a Specialist in the AMS/ERP team, you will be focused on preserving the Enterprise IT / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Systems Applications and Products (SAP) continuity for our Company's Finance application(s) and the single global SAP instance with a globally diverse set of teams; SAP Basis/Security, ABAP, SAP functional and Infrastructure teams together with the process steward organization to provide support for existing and new template enhancements. The candidate will provide functional design and guidance for the Finance Business Management processes with relate to their respective Finance application(s) and manage end-to-end SAP technical configurations in the Finance and Controlling module.
The candidate will work hand in hand with our Managed Services partner to ensure all work is performed using defined processes and meets Service Level Agreements for effective execution of Incident management as well as alignment of these processes to the Change management process. The candidate will Ensure IT Service Management, SDLC, processes and procedures remain updated and are adhered to. Additionally, from time to time this person will oversee some cross-functional projects and assists with program wide initiatives.
This role will be the Subject Matter Expert in the Financial and Controlling module of SAP and is responsible to sustain the ERP and FBM solutions and systems to support our Company's Human Health business. The Specialist will work closely with our business counterparts to support and maintain the global template for our Company's Human Health business. The incumbent will be accountable for providing overall direction to the support team and communicates/coordinates across business and IT to insure appropriate integration of processes across the organization.
Working with regional and global resources to ensure oversight on Enterprise IT / ERP functional work, specifically around Finance and Shared Services business processes, effective communication and coordination across all IT Hubs required to resolve Critical Incidents resulting in significant impact to business operations.
Working closely with Global Enterprise IT / ERP Operations functional/technical leads, and various development teams to schedule, communicate, and ensure appropriate support collaboration for key system changes and projects.
Continue to increase functional knowledge of the application(s) to help reduce costs through continuous improvements while providing a high level of support.
Ensure the Managed Services partner maintain good System Documentation, and ensure ongoing GMP and Sarbanes-Oxley system compliance through proper Documentation and SOPs in a Pharmaceutical highly-regulated environment.
Coordinates and leads projects to design, deploy and/or migrate new markets into the SAP COMET instance by partnering with the external vendors, Global teams and/or process stewards.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent.
Advanced degree a plus.
Minimum 3-5 years experience in SAP Finance/Controlling modules in production support role, having full life cycle implementations, and supporting Finance Shared Services experience would be a plus.
Experience in SAP environment ECC 6.0 and above, experience in HANA S/4 environment would be a plus but not essential.

Ability and interest to support other Enterprise Finance application (s) that are not part of SAP suites of applications.
